Not all of us have to lie and back pedal to make themselves look better Tud, if you was right and honest I would be happy to admit it.
Your word doesn't count for much these days, and the thread is still on the board should anyone want to read it.
The police aren't sure. He may have been driving too fast for the conditions/road. A dog may have run out into the road. He may have hit some water. Nobody really knows. Mark knew the area well. He'd drive out to Rawai a few times a week, so I can't believe he didn't know how sharpe the curve was.
^Actually i apologise for my questions, you have lost a friend and I am not one to criticise others for speeding as I do it all the time.

Yet that's just what you have done at least twice on this thread. Odd.Originally Posted by bkkmadness

Sometimes I agree, sometimes I don't. But that's what makes TD unique. If it weren't like this, I wouldn't stay. And neither would he. And neither would you.
Turd, the thread is still on here, people can read it and see more of your lies. I have no problem with them reading it and making up their own minds.
I have driven before and when under the influence of alcohol and admit to being a fool to do so. Thankfully never had an accident or hurt anyone.
These days limit my big nights out and when I am in Bangkok whereby I can stumble back to my hotel room.
At the same time there are fools on the road that should never be allowed to drive drunk or sober.
Drinking alcohol (and driving) seems to affect people's ability to handle a vehicle quite differently.
Wish they could come up with a "dumb driver" breathalyzer. The roads would be empty here!

Killing oneself in a car accident is a unfortunate fate made less unfortunate if the driver was drunk.
Don't know if he was or not, but what does it really matter? He's dead and didn't kill anyone else.
Don't get me started on a soldier that comes to Thailand from Iraq, overdoses on drugs and his friends can't understand why we don't consider him a hero.![]()
Probably matters to him, I mean being dead probably aint that much fun in the long run.Originally Posted by Texpat

And... yeah... he didn't kill anyone else.
Full circle. Everyone's in agreement.

That bend is on top of a hill and blind until you crest it !
Drunk or sober it can catch you out!
I have been reading this post and find quite a number of the supplicants completely disgusting. My family and I are devastated at this time and some people seem to show no compassion. Just to clarify a few points:
1. My brother had been out for a meal with my father earlier in the evening. I have already written a letter of complaint to the editor of the newspaper about their inaccurate reporting.
2. Mark had not been drinking, in the now infamous meaning that has been construed by various postings. The autopsy report showed no evidence of any alcohol or drugs in his system.
3. We will never know what exactly happened that awful night; Mark had been up very early taking my father to the hospital as he is terminally ill and may just have dozed off; the weather conditions may have been a factor; he may have swerved to avoid one of the numerous dogs or crazy (imo) scooter drivers. Who will ever know. All we know is that what actually killed him was the post he skidded into collapsing and the car not protecting his head. Thankfully instantaneously.
We have had a horrendous time dealing with Thai authorities regarding all of this as well as having to come to a foreign country to bury my brother. My family do not need all this and I would thank you to keep your opinions to yourselves. A huge thank you to those of you who have defended my brother.
Oh and finally as a point of interest, his ring was real - there was never anything fake about Mark.

I lost a close friend many years ago. He was in an alpha spider and hit an oak tree. He and his companion died at the spot. It was Bank Holiday Monday.
Old friends still go there to deposit flowers to this day
it happens to many
My condolences
I have reported your post
As I said in my post - that bend is dreadful - made worse since they widened the road a year ago.Originally Posted by Grievingsister

My condolences to you and family .
I do not know if any of Mark's friends whom I have met are on here but can I just say a big thank you for the welcome we received in Rang Rak last night. Having spent all day sorting out Mark's flat (which was a harrowing experience as you can imagine), we really did not feel like meeting up. However, you all treated us like family and really helped to take our minds off things for a short while. I thank you all, on behalf of my sister, little brother, mum and dad, from the bottom of our hearts. Please keep my father in your prayers as I take him back to the UK in the hope he can be given a little more time than my brother got.
Mark's big sister.

Thanks for checking in. My heart goes out to you.
