| The looming cloud of Troopergate must be of concern, but I think McCains surprise pick of Palin has been vindicated where it matters most- by the Electorate. It has reinvigorated his rather tired campaign. Thats the good news.
More sobering for the GOP is, will this Palin euphoria last, or will it peak? Similar to the Obama phenomenon- once the original hype is over, people sit back and look at things a bit more rationally- in OB's case, his being a first term Senator lead some to question his relevant experience.
In Sarahs case, expect such things as her weird Evangelical faith, her 'small town' political experience and Troopergate to be issues that will come more to the fore, and her attractive hockey mum persona less important. A sober assessment being- as potential VP for an octagenarian, am I comfortable with Mrs Palin as POTUS? The issue here is not her sex, rather the points above. Hillary is a woman too, but an experienced political battleaxe- she did not have the same credibility gap.
