It may have escaped people's notice, but, having a woman head of state isn't a novelty in the rest of the world, both in first world countries and third world countries.

Wasn't Geraldine Ferraro a VP running mate?
This Palin woman would only be making history if the Republicans won. A bit more history if McCain died in office.

Yes. She is being investigated for trying to have her ex brother-in-law fired. He is a state trooper.
However, in her defense, she was the one who got him the job. Of course, that was before he was the ex.

Not much of a defence; she pulled strings to get him a job and then - I'm presuming this is after he split with her sister - has tried to influence others to give him the sack.

The nepotism and undue-influence double. Wonder what she'll do for the tri-fecta?

The repubs would have to scramble to field a candidate.

    or --

They would prop him up in chair with a drink in his hand and surround him with britmaverick-esque sycophants.

    This gave me a chuckle.......

    Sarah Palin ; 2nd in Command = Husband + 5 Kids = Whore! (READ MORE! )

Sarah Palin = 2nd in command....

**Mother of 5 = can't keep her legs shut(whore). She'll be to busy with her kids and not running the country.

**Against Gay Marriage = is not open to anything out of the normal except killing, nor can think outside the box.

**Against Abortion Rights = Does not stick up for WOMAN = dominated by a MAN!

**Hunter = Kills animals, Against PETA, No Compassion will kill anything in her way(so she will send more troops to IRAQ) A hunt is a hunt = (human or animal)

**Belongs to the National RIFLE Association = Could care less about that!

Holy Crap = what are we in for?

This will be WORSE THAN THE BUSH ADMINISTRATION

Well - someone did say the world will end soon and I think it may very quickly!

Palin's son Track, serves in the U.S. Army, and may be deployed to Iraq this autumn.

Gov. Palin is in most ways a prototype Republican. If she is to be effective anywhere it will be in those, mainly western states, the Republicans must win as they have in the past. Many of these states are leaning toward the Dems. As a staunch outdoors person she may appeal to these states. She also gives McCain a VP who appeals to the fundamentalist christian voters. Votes he needs to win and to unite the GOP party.

IMO she will have little effect on bringing disgruntled Hillary supporters to the Republican side.

She will be protected from her lack of foriegn policy experience by carefully keeping her focused on "change" in Washington.

She is an unknown in the eyes of the majority of US voters. The campaign is going to have to have to spend a lot of time in the short time it has left to give her the exposure needed to prove a positive to the GOP hopes.

Time will tell but I think John really took a big gamble here.

I bet the rest of his squad will love that, as it will make them an even bigger target to the mad mullahs.

I don't think so. Palin's mention of Hillary's name in her acceptance speech did not go over well with the audience. The Clinton's are the most hated and politically feared names one could use in any way positive to a hard core Republican. Doubt she will use Hillary's name in a positive light again.
