Despite being a Brit I am a big Niners fan and have had a Season Ticket there for one season.

It was Joe Montana stellar season that culminated with a SB win against Denver.

I saw all playoff games expect the big one.

It was amazing watching that team, especially Joe to Jerry.

The one I watched last night had to be rebroadcast, not to many hours old [8 or 10 hrs.] but 1/2 time was cut so I know it wasn't direct.
Then why don't you just check the programming schedule ('TV Guide') from your system/remote. If memory serves it's valid for 7 days in advance and you can check for each individual sport.

What about getting a satellite feed from the Philippines? Surely they would have decent coverage of US sports?

I used to go and see the London Monarchs. Does that count?

Chi Pats looked pretty pathetic yesterday morning. SP teams, offense, defense all sucked big time. The only thing good was the field goal at the end of the 1st half.

They got shit loads of work to do, tackling was atrocious and the offense will not run without Brady. BIG problem as his right leg/foot continues to give problems. Tampa ain't that good, made em look like school boys.

Watched on P2P, good quality feed from NFL.com

Does anyone know how to find out which NFL games True Visions will be carrying this season, or at least in Sept? Every year it gets harder and harder to figure out what game will be carried on which station.

Perhaps a mod will merge the two threads. If not I will be confused and there will be a lot of duplication.

Chicago, aka, Chitown. You should be ashamed. The Pats?

    Go Bears.

BTW, this guy is looking for you. Fancy a get together next time he's in Bangkok.

Agree. Bloody difficult. Best I can tell you is to download the schedule on the first of each month from the website. Shouldn't be trusted however.

You have got a friend. Been a Niner fan for over 40 years. Was at the game where Dwight Clark made the catch.

Gene Upshaw just died. Apparently, the NFL salary cap will be removed in 2010.

    One of the greats. RIP.

There was a time when I was an avid Oakland Raider fan. After their greedy owner Al Davis moved the team to LA, I have no time for the "new" Oakland Raiders.

NFL players union chief Upshaw dies at 63 - NFL - NBCSports.com
The salary cap will only be removed if the two sides fail to reach an agreement on an extension of the contract beyond 2011, by the season ends in 2009. There is plenty of time to get it done. The major sticking point that I know of is the imbalance of money payed to new draftees relative to those that have been performing for years at a high level.

A first rounder gets millions and can' beat out someone that has been playing for a few years. There is an obvious imbalance and we'll see how it evolves. The money grubbing players or the money grubbing owners.. same same but different.

Sad that Upshaw has passed although it is a tough position, can't satisfy anyone really. He only found out he had pancreatic cancer on Sunday and he is gone already. whew. RIP Gene Upshaw.

El Gibbon - this only works well if you have a sold and reliable internet connection. Something most of us don't have in LOS.

As for the salary cap: Something will get done before the current deal expires - or at worst there will be one year without a cap.

Upshaw - great player, who did only a so-so job as the player union cheif. IMHO he did not do near enough to help the NFl retirees. But like I said a great player in his day - RIP.

    El Gibbon and Bugs,

Thanks for the info. You guys are much more informed than I am. I do still like the NFL and used to follow it very, very, closely. After travelling/expating in 2000, I've lost track of many things.

One of the criticisms of Upshaw (and the union) seems to have been the situations of former NFL players. Upshaw did state once that he represented the current players and not the retirees.

Perhaps the players should have donated to a pool. NFL players often have ailments as a result of their injuries.

Your quite right, however for those that do have a decent connection its the balls. I also used P2P on TOT satellite when living in Angkrillee, jumped a bit but never-the-less it was worth it if your a fan.

Watched the Eagles kick the Pats' ass this morning ;(. Excellent through-feed, almost HD TV quality. Looks like the Pats are in trouble again with a lot of injuries, oh, well same o same o.
