Best Visa Plan for 6 months

What would be the easiest way to stay in Thailand for 6 months, well almost 6 months as I do plan on leaving for a while.

If I start with a 90 day single entry, then renew it for another 30 days....what then??

The easiest would be obtaining a double entry tourist visa, which will be valid for 6 months (which means you have to make your second and final entry within 6 months after issue date).

this way, you only have to leave the country once, and each entry is good for 60 days, which can be extended (at the nearest immigration office) for 1900 baht per extension. Back in Europe, such a visa would cost around 60 euro.

Then you leave the country and get a visa or come back in for a visa free entry stamp of 30 days.

Or you save yourself a bot of hassle and do what sjaak says.
