Thanks again. Not too much brass is needed. To add one of these toys to the collection.

Agreed RB can be kinda pricey. Not wanting too spend too much brass on something that I will spend most of the time chucking it to the ground.

Looking at the list of bikes for sale. Most are of the 250s. Not much are 450s. Does that mean best to go for the 250 dirtbikes?

^ I saw a few WR400's when I was there but not many.

All depends on parts - are you going for a 2 stroker or 4?

Get the one which is the most popular here - probably a Honda something - CR250.

There have been a couple of CR500's around.

There is a massive muslcle fella that PP knows and I have met - ex mr universe - he is into motards but as far as I know has good contacts for dirt bikes.

StrattonMotorsports - Halsion Aprilia Lincoln : Home

    This guy - Shane.

^ I am leaning to towards 2 strokes 250. But still most seems to be 4 strokes 250.
I definitely want either a Yamaha or Honda 250 2 or 4 stroke.

I think I have seen him. Used to ride a CBR1000RR round Bira. Not sure though.

Check this web site out if you are looking for wild set of pipes for your HD.

    http://www.sikpipes.com/Album.html

Due to the standard pipes only being 1.75" and my new ones going from 1.75" to 2.5" I have bought a set of torque cones as recomened by Sik pipes.
I googled them and found mostly negative stuff about them.
    Anyone used them before ?

If you google honda motorcycles thailand you will find there a bangkok based firm that brings bikes here in bits from Japan and then rebuilds and registers them and provides an export facility.

Small bikes at 400cc but some of them do look rather tasty

What sort of bike are we talking about
As I said before carry what you can and ship the frame and motor in ( Pay import duty as spare parts, put it back together with a 2% rebuild tax. Then with all your papers get someone to make a green book for you 50 to 70K baht

Peterpan could probably tell you a little more about what you need to make the green book
