Brit,
I agree, sensible people aren't offended by such trivial things.
However TV shows such as Top Gear in the UK constantly light up the BBC switchboard with complaints. The Advertising Standards Bodies are always inundated with complaints about some ad or other that has offended someone.
So it just goes to show that people will get offended no matter what; it's not a trait limited to Muslims.

sweeping and shallow generalizations in in the defense of tolerance is no virture.
It's called satire Macha. Look it up. S-A-T-I-R-E.My question is why do Americans go ballistic on very small things? I understand why Muzzies get pissed. They are uneducated scum of the earth. What's with educated Americans, dude?
America is quite tolerant. We've given a nice selection of fine Muzzie gentlemen lifetime passes to Club Gitmo.I hope they use the stationary provided in their rooms to write back to friends and family about how tolerant their new friends are.
my ex mum in law and her bloke used to sit in front of the tv all hours with a pen and notepad counting swear words and other stuff they deemed unchristian.Originally Posted by AntRobertson

There was a big stink some years back about one of the newsreaders on the national TV news. Apparently there were a significant number of people that were displeased by her ennuciation, elocution and in particular her accent in general. Not the proper 'Queens English' apparently.

Here's a good example of American tolerance, Texpat:Originally Posted by Texpat

American tolerance eh?
^ that was stupid too!!!
Sorry Macha, didn't mean to upset you and send you out on a hunting expedition.
But since you did ...
Missed the outrage in that ^^ passage. Sounds like a marketing decision based on perceptions rather than a group proclaiming outrage over a woman whose ragtop fell down to her neck. Did a 737 slam into the building over her shoulder by chance?
You have a link for that or should we take your word for it?![]()
At least the OP has a quoted source.
Mach's source is "conservatives."

(that's called sarcasm Macha -- S-A-R-C-A-S-M. It means I really don't believe it)
Try harder, Texpat.
