McCain has done a good job of tying himself to the success of the 'surge' in Iraq, including statements by the DOI (Director of CIA today). And, at the same time, he's done a good job of characterizing Obama as a fluffy inexperienced smooth talking candidate without a plan, who condemned the surge, and who has failed to go to Iraq to determine the current situation. And, because of this pressure, now Obama will go to Iraq, though not with McCain. Obama realizes he'll be overshadowed by McCain in any direct comparison. Obama will organize his own trip to Iraq and try to make himself look like he is in the know, though I can't figure out what strategy he'll employ to do that.
Just me humble opinion, offered once a week for your pleasure.
