Friday Night Dinner With Chi & the Missus: Art & Cafe 4-18-2008

We decided to look for something cozy in the Muang Ake area of Pathumthani and came across the Art & Cafe located at 51/019 Muang Ake Village, Ake Taksin Rd Muang Pathumtani. Phone 02-5339594 or mobile number 084-1273000

The Art Cafe has Thai and Italian food and a few other European dishes. It has been open for 2 years, featured in a couple of Thai magazines and the whole family enjoys cooking.

While the wife was taking pics and enjoying the decor, I was enjoying the food.

It was my cheat day, and I took full advantage of it!!

I ordered sirloin steak burritos. It was pretty tasty, kind of more like a steak and vegetable spring roll.

Looked like some good food there, nice thread Chitown.

Do remember some of us are still poor enough to worry about the prices, how much did it all cost?

    Sounds very reasonable.
Can you give me a more general direction where this is?

By the way, I always enjoy reading your restaurant reviews. Keep them coming.

If you are on Viphavidi / Rangsit Highway, exit at Carefour and follow the frontage road until you pass the Esso gas station and turn left onto Muang Ake Road. Follow that over the bridge thatis over the klong. After the klong go about 2 kilometers and the restaurant is on the right.

You can ring them for directions - they speak pretty decent English.

I'd don't know about that macaroni. It sure looks a bit like its sauce has been made with ketchup! CHi, it seems like you are often going up to Rangsit to eat. What's your connection to this bland polluted area where I live?

I had a nice dinner Thursday night, bangers and mash with garden peas, 130 Baht and it was delicious. It'd cost you around 300 baht for the same meal in Sukhumvit/Silom.

'Oh My Cod!' around the Khao San Road area.

    Oh My Cod! British Cafe'

They do a good cod and chips, peas too for 220 baht, their full English brekkie is one of the best in Bangkok. And they sell Beer Lao.

^I had a nice fish and chips yesterday lunch time at Jamesons on Silom road. It's on special on a friday, B195 for the set, Nice home made tomato soup with bread, fish and chips and then icecream with fruit. Not bad for less than B200.
