I doubt you'll get as much as 26 BHP from a 'tuning box' in such an old engine. I presume you mean a piggyback ECU that will increase the boost of the turbo and the fuel/air mix. You'll get an increase because of the turbo but you'll also get increased lag at lower revs as a result. Makes up for it though when the turbo is spooled up and in the mid to high rev band you'll notice it.

In non turbo diesel cars without other modifications they are an utter waste of time and money.

Your ample torque will be the crucial factor when racing against other vehicles at speed or overtaking.

Dalton, sounds like you've got a good buy. I do think the Tdi is still better than the VR5.

^ It sure has a better fuel economy, and it got a lot of room inside, I think I made the right choice..

Well, after way to much waiting for paper-work and other issues I finally got the car last week, and it was worth waiting for, it drives very smooth has all the options a man can ask for, and a excellent fuel-economy. I took to a VW dealer to have a complete check-up, and the only thing wrong was that the rear brake-pads needs to be changed..
