Lipton all the way! Just the right balance of flavour, strength, bite, and smoothness.

After years of being a tea snob ('This darjeeling comes from a estate on a north-facing slope; the leaves are picked just before dawn on a new moon day by left-handed virgins singing traditional hymns'), I found Lipton tea does quite nicely.

Strength-wise, I use two bags for one-and-half cup water.

Still like Darjeeling when making a traditional masala chai (ginger, cardamom, anise; all boiled in milk, not water), but strangely, Darjeeling straight makes me pee frequently.

Earl Gray is for tea-traitors! Why add flavouring to an already delicious beverage? And the bergamot essential oil is extracted using harmful chemicals, traces of which are in the oil.

If you like the Earl Gray taste, get some Earl Gray-flavoured chewing gum from the Nordic countries. Swedes even love Earl Gray scented chewing tobacco! And I found an adult shop in Finland that even sold Earl Gray-flavoured edible lube!

For a really strong and flavourful cuppa, try to find some "Golden Dust" -- the Indian community in BKK might know where to get some.
