Figured as much AC, so left on Monday....
E. G.

I was there, but I was too shy to say hello, so I just hid in the corner behind a copy of the BKK Post.Originally Posted by MeMock

Really wasn't in to meeting him, just wanted to see if he looks as in his photos.
The Garage is definately the best burger in Bangkok.....
They have also opened a second restaurant in Central World plaza on Rajadamri on the 7th floor near the cinema.....
Superb Philly Cheese steak as well and the New Zealand mussels with spaghetti is my favourite.
Not that expensive......the owner is a nice guy too, he's one of the singers at Tawan Daeng - Rama 3...... tawks wid a Noo Yawk accent

BTW, I went to Sizzler today for the salad bar and found that their cheeseburger is now 280 baht, so quite a bit more than The Garage....

I might have to go there for breakfast on Friday.Originally Posted by Bobcock

I didn't go, so I've no idea. Went to Tenderloins on Soi 33 last night. It was excellent.
Tell us about Tenderloins, Marmers, I went past there a couple of weeks ago but it looked touch too poncy for me and I was by myself, so thought everybody would think I was gay or too ugly to get a skanky.

::Welcome to Tenderloins Bar & Grill::
I had the kitchen sink steakburger, which was excellent. William had the bangers and mash (which I believe he enjoyed) and GoW had the Surf 'n' Turf, which she said was great, despite the fact that she is a complete heathen when it comes to things involving taste (obviously).
The bar is frequented by a good mix of people and you can sit at the bar and sweet-talk the girls (if you're flying solo) or make a complete evening of it if you're with chums.
Next time you're in town give me a shout and we'll say hi to Brad together if you want.
From the website, a green salad for 195bt?
I would indeed expect it to be good.

^ I know! 3 quid for a salad in a decent restaurant! Extortionate!
I had the Greek Salad, and it was very average. I have a chef's salad most days for lunch that only costs 100 Baht which is miles better, but as part of an evening out, it no great shakes.
I'd expect it to come with the TenderloinOriginally Posted by stroller

Yes, I actually called into Blue BBQ, what dreary place thats turned into, couldn't get out fast enough.
Just read your rant (almost 1 year after it was posted) and couldn't agree more. The food and the noise in this place were so bad the first time I visited that I didn't believe it and had to go back for a second helping. Two was more than enough and I have to disagree with your comments about the freelancers. Everything about this place sucks of Macbeth but surely the three Witches had some decent recipes and could whiz up something decent to eat.
Not into burgers but on a similar line there was a "chippie" ( Fish and Chip shop) in Oak Street Wolverhampton in the 60's that did their fish in one fryer loaded with Beef fat and their chips in a separate fryer with Lamb fat !!!--orf*ckingasmic!
Their "Roe Klondykes" were the food of Gods!!!
Closed down in the 80's due to the onset of the "nanny state" and is now a ghastly Pakistani balti house!

The front page is a bit horrible too, gotta split down the middle, at the prices he charges ( 320 bangers and mash + tax) I am sure he could afford Marmers to give it a makeover.
I realise that this is an old post PP but the thread has been bumped...BlueBBQ was sold by Brad years ago, to a kiwi who runs a whorehouse in Auckland...he just uses the bar in 33 as a holding pen while he organises visas and things...Originally Posted by peterpan
