In Isaan and Craving Some German Food?

I happened to visit the N and N Restaurant and Mini Mart In Surin. N & N not only can serve you up a hot meal, but they also have a farang mini mart for take away as well.

Many farangs were in and out while I was there. Some pulled up a chair at the bar or a table and others loaded their trucks and cars with farang goods from the mini mart.

The handsome German proprietor, Norby does some of the cooking and also spends many hours making homemade German sausages.

I knew that Dalton lived somewhere close by, but neither Nobby or the punters in the place had ever heard of him. They suggested that he might be a TEFLer at one of the area schools.

One of the customers was helpful and provided me a pic of a guy that he thinks is Dalton. Here he is teaching English at a local Thai school and he has not lost his rich heritage one bit.

If you are at N & N at night and are looking for a disco, there is Speed right across the street. If you are more of a people watcher, you can sit at the N & N and watch the ladies arrive at Speed - up to you!

Really good thread Chitown. Apart from the beans it does look pretty good!

I travel up that way a fair bit so will keep the place in mind.

Memock, the beans were actually delicious. They were seasoned just right along with bits of bacon and onion. I thought to order a side! Norby is nice enough to share his recipes. He shared his baked bean recipe with me ands also a recipe for cooking up some tasty brussel sprouts.
