Pattaya - Jomtien - Swedish woman hurt falling into hole

Swedish Tourist hurt because of unfinished construction work on the Thappraya Road in Jomtien.

For many months we have been reporting on the poor state of the Thappraya Road which leads to Jomtien Beach. The City Administration undertook road widening work which has yet to be completed. Some sections of the road are clearly dangerous, with large exposed holes which are not covered in any way. Many people who choose to walk along the road have fallen foul to the dangers relating to the unfinished construction work and this is one such example which occurred on Friday Night. Mr. and Mrs. Svenson from Sweden were walking along the road opposite Bruno’s Restaurant when Mrs. Ingrid Svenson aged 60 fell into a deep hole, injuring her right leg. A rescue unit was called to transport the woman to Hospital where she was treated for cuts and bruises. We have today sent a copy of this report along with pictures to the Mayors office at Pattaya City Hall for his consideration.

Yes it clearly there.....

Perhaps the all important plastic bag stuck on top of the stick had blown away?

Anyway, this wouldnt have happened if she'd stayed in Sweden.

She looks impressed by being scraped off the pavement and tossed into the back of one of Thailand's classy Ambu-pickups. Wonder how much they charged her for that?

Why was she walking on the sidewalk in the first place?
Everyone knows that's the sole domain of tuk-tuks, CD-pirates and triple-amputees.

Serves her right. (damn near a gratuitous crotch shot, to add a little salt to the wound)

A 60 year, anorexic, crotch shot is not the way to start the morning...

Not any worse than driving down a busy city street in Mexico City, only to see corn stalks appearing in the middle of the street... This is where thieves have taken the man-hole covers off of the sewers and sold them for the steel... At least they had the decency to put the corn stalks in the hole to warn drivers...

My friend walked into an open hole like the one in the picture during the wet season a couple of years ago, he couldn't see the hole because of the water. He had to hobble around using a cane...he actually looked quite dashing and all the bargirls gave him more attention he said.
