I was using an Olympus E-300 in the sunset program which highlights the reds/orange. It wasn't that orange in real life. Neat effect hey!

Regardless of effects, they truly are excellent pictures. Makes me want to go out and buy a new camera. Unfortunately i can't afford one.

That Olympus E-300 is a nice piece of kit, I like the sunset program.
The details in the pictures are pin sharp.

Yes - excellent stuff, thanks for sharing. I also have some photos of a trip to Laos taken earlier in the year, they'd fit under your thread title quite nicely but don't come up to the same standard. I've been meaning to post them for months now!

Would it be considered a hijacking of the thread if I posted some photos here? Maybe WujouMao would like to join as well . . . ?

    Okay - here goes - one at a time . . .

I was told that this "stone jungle" in the valley is so inaccessible that unknown species and possibly tribes are believed to be down there!

My trip to Laos was june 2006. we crossed over from thailand into the capital with our 15 day stamp. headed up north, back down to capital, and then south towards cambodia.

cute girl with a flower. my Aussie mate said the plant makes you see things and too much of it blinds you.

    Luang Prabang

this Black Tai village was heaving when we rocked up, but i guess they dont like strangers

shame the woman is walking away from the camera

found these beauties in a Lao market.

    the Plain of Jars

funny episode with this. there were 2 bridges, the other one more stable than this. my Aussie friend and i walked happily across it when i turned round and saw them taking extra care crossing, when i said, 'there's a proper bridge over there'! they froze with fear lol

    road stop snacks

    Tat Fan twin waterfall

i don't remember this waterfall, but i have the Lao name of it in another photo

Great photos WujouMao. Could have done without the canine category, interesting shot all the same! Really like the Plain of Jars shots and especially like the waterfalls shots.

I don't think I have any more that are good enough for this thread . . . maybe I'll just lower the tone!
