    Tennis in Bangkok

Since moving to the States last September my son (6) has become an avid tennis player (our home is located in a complex built to serve as a tennis center in Florida) and he would like keep playing during our upcoming five-or-so-month stay in Bangkok. Does anyone have any recommendations for tennis courts, preferably with teaching pros available, in BKK, specifically those not too far from the Thonglor/Ekamai area where we'll be staying? Kid-friendly is especially important, although I'd like to get out and hit a bit myself as well. Cheers in advance.

Tennis Club Bangkok - Le Smash Club & Tennis Academy

Sakolpan Sport Club - Klong Toey - Sports Club | Facebook

There is also a club up in Lad prao which is on SOi 31 I think - quieter and fairly decent.

What about renting a condo with on site courts and a nice pool to dive into after a few sets.

Check at the international schools on Sukumvit. They very often have a Thai pro to keep up the lessons for the kids on the tennis team. NIST, Bangkok Prep are the first two that come to mind. My kids do it through Harrow but its way out in Laksi. The coach comes to public courts in Don Muang to teach them. But they are not in the class of your young son it does not seem. Good on ya for getting him into sports.

Thanks for the tips, guys. I'll look into the club and international school possibilities described above. On-site courts at a condo would be good but I won't always have the time to go out and hit with him, and I think he benefits from being taught by someone other than Dad, and not only because my own strokes aren't quite perfect.

I think I'd go with the German coach on soi 38 if it was my son.

Turn him into a little Boris becker

    Good stuff.

Tennis is a great sport once you start getting reasonable at it.

Played everyday when I lived in Korat - only 300 baht a month.

This is the type of thread that makes TD unique in my mind. A simple question, and immediately a wealth of information based on personal experience.

The Hilton (former) has a good tennis court, and the best relax swimmingpool of BKK in my opinion.
