What are the dates for Pattaya, Naklua and Jomtien and what will you be doing?

Locked away from all that tomfoolery.

Start on the 15th and finish on the 19th, there abouts.

Hiding in me bedroom behind locked door.

Went to bangsean last year several days after it should have finished, got f ing well soaked as they were still at it. Week later at Prapradeang (bkk) same as some minority there do it later. So I would say considering the kids start about a week early just about the whole of April, seems to get longer every year.

Don't know, I'm looking for suggestions?

staying in the compound. if I want to get wet, I'll take a dip in the pool.

Got my parents over for their 1 st Songkran, going to hire a pickup and get the missus to drive around on the 18th + 19th with me n the family on the back with water, ice and beer!

Getting out of Dodge that's for sure.

Maybe find a mountain to climb, or an uninhabited island.

Correct. Always a tourist draw Songkran goes on for a week in Pattaya. If you want a shower take a songtow along 2nd road.

I'll be taking no chances this year and will be flying to a secret and dry location for songkran week.

Pattaya is actual a lot of fun on the proper Thai Songkran day which is usually 19th or 20th. All the locals come out to play and Sukumvit is a parking lot with a massive water fight going on. Really not bad at all.

It is the week leading up to it that wears on the nerves.

The proper Thai Songkran day (if done astrologically) falls on the 13th or 14th, but is officially recognized as being the 13th.

s join in. Usually a weekend day at the end of Songkran week. No ones cares about all that astrological goobledigook in Pattaya.

Get the money from the stupid falang and then party on down. It is one of the few times here you see Thai and farang enjoying some friendly fun together without one party ending up with a piece of 2 by 4 embedded in their skulls.

I believe it's been moved to somewhere in the vicinity of the Northern Caucasus recently.

Doors locked.

Who's betting on a Thai machete fight between 30 drunk Thais where there's lots of running, screaming and swinging without anyone actually getting hit on the 9 o'clock news on the first day?

And at least 30 dead motosai riders after copping buckets of ice to the face while drunk with no helmet and 15 pillion passengers.

13th , 14th and 15th in Bangkok.

I shall be doing Khao San road and then heading over to Cowboy on one long drink and drug fuelled rampage.

Great live music scene happening there with some very nice looking flashpackers parading up and down.

Whilst we are both looking forward to our return to Thailand checked the dates of songkran,so our flight arrives Bkk 17th April 06:05 should be all clear then.
