    Sugarcane price 2012

    Anyone sold their sugar yet ?

    We sold ours and barely break even

    Fortunately haven't got a lot

    1020 baht a tonne

    We got scewed, right ?

    Rubber prices have dropped also. What odds on sugar going the same way soon ?

    supply and demand,,, let the markets dictate. govt intervention only when prices get out of hand for the consumer.

    The missus sold some sugar cane in mid December and got 1250baht/tonne.
    She harvested her cassava in late december and got 2.7baht/kg for it, she said it had 30+% starch which is why she got that price others in the village were getting 2.2baht/kg. My only comment is that I am glad I have a job (not in thailand) and don't have to rely on selling the farm produce to survive.
