Nice little video where AZ Alkmaar's keeper defends himself from an Ajax fan who ran onto the pitch and took a swing at him. The keeper is then red carded by the referee

The match was abandoned after AZ were ordered off in protest by their coach.

The keeper did seem to rather go to town (even though he didn't properly connect, he tried...). I'm not saying I blame him, but it certainly was an incident worthy of note - the keeper could've reacted less violently (he may have been beaten up though if he took a more passive approach...).

Strange one, no win situation for the keeper - but not of his making.

The hooligan took a swing at him which the keeper just evaded. Looks like he lost his cool at that point as once he got going he had to be dragged off by a team mate.

Self defence but probably red carded for the kick to the nuts.

^ yes, he went at it too hard, but what if he'd been less tough - maybe he'd be in hospital now???
