    NRL Finals begin.

The Wests Tigers turned in a superb second half to beat St George Illawarra 21-12 in Friday night's opening NRL finals match.

Behind 12-6 at the break, halfback Robert Lui starred as the Tigers stormed home and the Dragons suffered a meltdown that looked to extinguish any hope they have of going back-to-back in 2011.

Wayne Bennett's coaching era could be over by Saturday night after his side appeared first to rediscover and then lose their mojo in the space of 40 minutes.

The premiers will exit the finals if two teams among the Warriors, North Queensland or Newcastle have upset wins in this weekend's remaining games.

    Go The Tigers!!

Lockyer confirmed as not playing against Manly. I think the Broncos will struggle.

For such a young team in formation years, the storm have done exceptionally well.

Looking like they are top team again

    Brisbane Broncos
    3.1

Manly the favourites but the broncos side is full of young blokes who are keen to make the Grand Final so that lockyer can play one last game, they will be hard to roll.

Since Australia Network stopped broadcasting the NRL, I've tried a couple of times to get interested in AFL, but it just bores me to tears..

Whilst in Auckland New Zealand in 88 I decided to go look at what was then the Erickson Stadium to see the home of the Warriors.

I bused it out to the stadium from the city bus terminal , got there after a scenic journey, and then wandered into the stadium and took a few pics.

After about 10 mins a team suddenly came sprinting out of the tunnel dressed in full kit, followed by a load of photographers.

The team was no less than the touring Great Britain Ladies Rugby League team, who were touring NZ and Aus, and were doing a promotional photo shoot.

Also havin a soft spot for the Sea Eagles, and having took time out to get the Manly ferry out of Sydney, and go the stadium to get my maroon shirt, I am 50/50 because of my association with both clubs.

    So neutral
