What gigs/concerts have you been to?

I'm going to see Rob Zombie tonight (so excited cos I've waited years). What bands/singers have you seen? Who did you like the most/least?

I haven't seen that many but my best was Bon Jovi (probably cos I'd been obsessed with them for a couple of years) it was so fun and everyone was having a mint time. Second would probably be Nine Inch Nails, couldn't believe I was actually seeing them.

Others I've seen are Patti Smith, PJ Harvey, Henry Rollins, Prince, M.I.A, The Temper Trap, Kanye West, Pink, Christina Aguilera.

I'd love to see Nick Cave, Depeche Mode, The Cure, The Smiths, Deftones, David Bowie, Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler, Dropkick Murphys.
and he just stands there, waiting for me to drive my truck straight through him, with LIGHT coming out of his mouth!

Basically every rock/metal band of note between Dec 1984 and mid 1987, with Monsters of Rock 1988 thrown in for good measure.

    Highlights:-

Metallica - Master of Puppets Tour, Hammersmith Odeon 1986
Anthrax - Among the Living Tour 1987
AC/DC - Fly on the Wall Tour, Birmingham NEC 1986
Slayer - Clash of the Titans Tour, Wembly Arena 1991
Iron Maiden - Somewhere in Time Tour, Leicester de Montfort Hall 1986
Motley Crue - Theatre of Pain Tour, Hammersmith Odeon 1986
Accept - Russian Roulette Tour, Hammersmith Odeon 1986

They're the ones that I remember best.

Saw Janis Joplin in DC in 1967. Saw Ike and Tina Turner in Louisville in 1969. Saw the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in a free outdoor concert at Florida State University in 1972 or 1973. That's it.

No, I didn't dance to GE or to the Madonna concert I was forced to go to a few weeks later... it was part of a 4-pack; I got tickets for 2 and she got tickets for 2 (mine were ELO and the Rolling Stones, btw).

So many my mind short circuited.

Best: Stevie Wonder followed by Zepplein and Alice Cooper.

Worst: Roger Waters closely followed by Bowie.

    Loudest: Slade followed by ACDC.

Classiest: Roberta Flak followed by T Rex.

Best crowd participation: Status Quo followed by Gypsie Kings.

In a local pub/ secret concert: Joe Walsh and Waddy Watchel.

Drunkest: Joe Cocker followed by Rick Wakeman.

Best live band: Tom Petty and the Hearbreakers.

Most sporting: Rod Stewart and the Faces.

I saw Clapton back in '78 or '79 at Lumpini and if I'd known before today he's back in town, I'd be down to see him again.

I went to a long list of concerts. Few remembered as booze, chemicals and herbs of varying species have that effect. Think headliners all dead by now or should be.

Back in the early-70's mate and he was drunk as a skunk in the dressing room before they sobered him up and he ended up nailing the concert. Still one of the best voices ever.

I've seen way too many to mention them all here, but the most memorable ones were:

    Janes Addiction (twice)
    Nirvana (three times)
    The Pixies (twice)
    Fugazi (three times)
    Red Hot Chili Peppers (twice)
    Grateful Dead (6 times)
    Iron Maiden (twice)
James Brown at the Coogee Bay Hotel in Sydney
    Dire Straits
    Pink Floyd

The drunkest band I ever saw and a great show as well was The Replacements.

Terry - I saw George T in 1985 or 86 can't remember if it was Perth or Sydney Entertainment Centre, Joe Cocker in NZ late 90s, these guys just keep on going

Spent too much time and money 80s 90s following bands/concerts, as for 'best' depends on what stage I was going through, early 80s would have to be PiL Public Image Limited saw them twice in Sydney (Hordern Pavilion and 2 nights later, ears still ringing, Coogee Bay), Nick Cave in Perth

Rolling Stones still put on a good show in 2007 or 08, and more recently band Black Keys were bloody good, though they only played an hour, no encore and f'd off
