I'd sack off the whole idea then and open a Canadian restaurant.

The FP is quite right of course, incorrect baked beans, it will never be a true English resturant and without pitta bread not even a good copy.

You may get away with it in Somalia, suggest you try there.

I think you should open an English style pub, there's something you don't see very often.

    How Greek?

Mother a von Battenberg, father from the House of Schleswig- Holstein- Sonderburg- Gluecksburg. Doesn't speak Greek. Isn't allowed to return to Greece, considers himself Scandinavian.

    Funny guy though.

BORN ON JUNE 10, 1921, on the Greek island of Corfu , Prince Philip was the only son of Prince Andrew of Greece. The family was Greek in name only; they were of Danish and German background. They were plopped onto the Greek throne in the interests of British foreign policy.
I thought Spitting Image did a great pishtake of him ("Stavros!").

Trouble is these royals are like the Arabs, they do a lot of inbreeding to keep the family "pure", and it produces the odd weirdo mental case once in a while (c.f. princes who talk to their cabbages).

Open an Ethiopian restaurant. Hire dark skinned Isaan ladies. Call it a British restaurant. No one will know the difference. It will be novel thus successful.

Christ almighty proper beans should be made in house.

Good luck mate with the restaurant but its a whole lot of work for small returns mostly unless your Gordon Ramsey.

Especially in Thailand where food is very cheap and English restaurants are a dime a dozen.

    Anyway good luck with it.

Just looked in my freezer. Pitta bread 22 baht for 4 large ones (foodland). Beans no idea. I get those shite Ayam ones for 31 baht a large can and add shit loads of salt to get rid of the taste.
Goodluck with restaurant idea buddy but I have a feeling you might be eating the bread and beans yourself when the money runs out if you 'aint got a proper business plan.
    Black diamonds? I shit 'em.

I buy pita bread from foodland and noticed it come from a bakery named Grace, so assume you may be able to buy wholesale from there, probably Grace hotel in Nana, must be someone baking them in Patts too, cant see the Kebab stands buying them retail.

^Back to the fucking freezer again to fetch the bastards.
O.K. Looking at the packet of bread it's made a in Samut Prakan. The address is in Thai so I can't be arsed to translate it. The good news is that they've got a phone number.
    02-3931857 or 09-6965746.
Gonna put 'em back in the freezer now.

^High end quality restaurants normally do quite well, on the other hand high end quality restaurants do not have heinz baked beans on the menu unless they have a kiddies menu.

FarangRed. The dudes only asking for the price of bread and beans!
There are places that actually make it. I have no idea if the OP will be one of them (probally not). If he has a decent business plan and a shed load of money he may be the 1% that makes it.
Actually, gonna stop here......... Farangred's got a very valid point with his post. Why can't we have some Greek dude from Bolton wanting to open South-East Asia's biggest doner kebab shop in Bangkok instead of some dude after beans?
Silversands mate.Forget the English restaurant idea and OPEN A FUCKING PROPER GREASY ENGLISH STYLE KEBAB SHOP! (near my house).

    Eggs.

    1 month ago = 6 eggs for 20 baht.

    Now = 5 eggs for 20 baht.

    It's a crisis.
