David Bowie David Gilmour Comfortably Numb

note andrew biggs doing the monster mash in the audience at 6.54 and 7.09.

blistering note perfect solo from gilmour and fine vocals from bowie.

None can sing comfortably numb as van morrison did, at the concert after the berlin wall came down . the wall concert with another member of floyd. His name escapes me just now.

I was at that concert and thought it was the worst concert I have ever had the misfortune of having to sit through.

Well a close call with the Bowie concert I had to endure in the mid 1980's when he decided not to play any of his older material.

That sounds awful until Gilmore starts singing in tune and properly, David can't sing this song in key for shit, he should stick to his own stuff but he's probably so brainwashed by his legendary hype that he's unaware that he's making a complete fool of himself.

Funny thing, I went to see Nine Inch Nails open for Bowie sometime in the mid-90's. Got stuck in traffic on the way there and missed almost all of NIN. Then Bowie played all his newer stuff save for "Under Pressure." A wash of a night, unfortunately.

When I saw Bowie he didn't play one of his old hits and his music at the time was rubbish.

I was so disappointed as he toured with Carlos Alomar and Peter Frampton as his lead guitarists and they hardly played a lead between the 2 of them.

And sitting there watching Roger Waters trying to pull off Pink Floyd standards without the rest of the band was a shambles. He also toured with Snowy White and Andy Fairweather Low and I was really pissed off as I also missed the piss-up with them in Nana Plaza after the gig.

The Van Morrison version is excellent. It was on the soundtrack to the recent version of The Departed. One of the very view songs (Comfortably Numb - not just this version) that I can play and play and play and never tire of hearing.

Decided to download the full concert of the Wall at Berlin. Mother by Sinead O'Conner is off the richter.
