Scrap metal thieves swipe house piping fittings

Scrap-metal thieves steal brass piping from 50 homes
    Boonlua Chatree
Scrap-metal thieves have taken brass pipes from the outside of about 50 homes in the Paradise 1 village on Soi Khao Noi.

One of the homes left waterless after thieves stole brass fittings connecting houses with water meters.
Four homeowners contacted the Pattaya Mail on February 26 after the brass fittings connecting their houses with water meters went missing, leaving homeowners without water.
Homeowner Patcharee Sri-In, 40, said she contacted the Pattaya Waterworks Authority, who told her theft of the valuable brass piping has been a problem and to report it to police.

Who remembers when the entire stainless steel railing of one of the BTS stops was stolen overnight? It's this kind of thing that ensures Thailand will always be a 3rd world country..

This has been happening for years in the UK.. Only the other week there was a report where a whole set of Bronze railings was stolen from outside Coventry Cathedral..
Now that's going to take some shifting, there not going be picked up by a couple of drunk students on their way home thats for sure..
It's going to take at least an angle grinder and a flatback truck, how do you get away with something like that in such an iconic location is beyond me .

Lead thief was caught on church roof

A LEAD thief has been stopped in his tracks after being caught red handed on a church roof.
Kieran Bennison, 19, of Woldgate, admitted stealing lead from two churches when he appeared before magistrates in Bridlington last Friday.

He also asked for four further offences of theft, two involving churches and two in relation to private properties, to be taken into consideration.

Heather Levett, prosecuting, told the court that on September 21 Bennison stole £2,000 worth of lead from the roof of All Saints' Church in Skipsea and caused £2,000 of damage to the masonry, and on October 19 he stole lead from the roof of St Lawrence's Church in Sigglesthorne.

The lads have been at this lately in the U.K..
Stealing the lead off church roof's.Costs a fortune to replace.

^They certainly would, have you not read about all the Buddha figures going missing in Lopburi province over the last few months?

^^They use google earth now to find buildings with lead roofs in the UK now.

I remember when a railway line was stolen too, and they are forever stealing overhead cabling in the Uk.
