Meemers, looks awesome. For some strange reason I've developed a fear of heights in the past few years ... terrible vertigo. I do a lot of flying in small aircraft and increasingly I get really dizzy when I stick my head out for the TD photo threads.

A mate does a lot of helicopter flights and reckons I'd I'd be ok. Whaddayareckon, should I just grow a pair, or are small aircraft much different to helicopters for us vertically challenged???

Man put me on a boat and in 7-10 metre swells and I'm happy as pig in shit, anything higher and I get anxious

Fair enough. If you happen to have the Long. Lat. We could find out.

The only time I have been sick in the air is in a fixed wing WK, as long as the chopper pilot isnt trying to show off you will be fine.

I just asked my brother Nawty and this was his response...

"I still can't charge even when I've got a commercial license, as I need an air operators certificate. I could only do it if I was an employee of someone like heliwork. I would want to know who they were as it's a very special place & I'd want to make sure they would treat it with respect. We'd also need the permission of Legune Station"
News is what someone, somewhere is trying to suppress - everything else is just advertising.

Crikey.....just mates goin for a fly.....can pay in a ute load of beer if he wants it.

As for 'special' place.....there are so many.....when you are in a helicopter.

I remember landing in a 'special' place in Arnhemland by a billabong and wandered down to the banks, threw in a line and within seconds a Barra 2 foot long jumped on it......should have got abo permission there I guess.

Oh and another 'special' place in Papua New Guniea.....landed there, did some trading and a wonderful time.......probably should have got PNG permission to visit, oh and a visa....or international flight permission......I guess.

But they did love the guy that was towing a skier from his heli on the river where that station is in the Kimberley...whats the one with the resort on it, was owned by that toffy Pommy guy ??

Anyway, heli comes around bend in river and there in front of him is a fisherman in a dinghy.....no biggy.....keep on skiing.

But the guy in the boat was a CASA dude and upon his return to work...big troubles.

Haha, yeah I have heard that story. Will Burrell was the name of the toffy Pom - he got up to a few crazy things in his 10 years at El Questro.

I believe it is all still for free as he tries to get his hours up. I hope to take advantage of this situation in a few months time when I visit!

Forgot to mention about the cross hire. The first year was a little slow but the last 12 months were above budget so, so far so good.

Sunday morning it was off to Cape Dommett for breakfast. An easy 30 minutes flight from base. For kids who hardly ever get to see the beach they were in heaven!

One of my favourite passtimes in the Torress Straits was to go shell collecting by heli....I would get down to about 1m above the sand and circumnavigate the islands, stopping to pick up all kids of nifty...big big shells.
