Niels Colov and Human Rights meeting.

Training on human rights and other issues was given to new members of a law enforcement group in Pattaya. It was unanimously voted that the new office of the LEIO would be in the headquarters of the Pattaya Times newspaper of Pattaya Tai. The training was held on July 25 by the Law Enforcement Investigation Organization (L.E.I.0) at the Town in Town hotel. The LEIO is Thailand’s leading watchdog over government organizations and police and its aim is the protect the rights of all: Thais and foreigners.
Its purpose was to educate members about the direction of the organization and to educate trainees about human rights and procedures for investigating the official administration. More than 300 executives from different business in Chonburi Province participated, and honorary members included Mr. Drew Noyes, who was appointed “Advisor to the Chairman”, from the Pattaya Times newspaper, Mr. Niels Colov from the Pattaya People newspaper, Mr. Roland Gobert from 99 Service, and Mr. Alban Cassette from the Casadena Lodge.
L.E.I.0 Director, Col. Suban Saengphan, chaired the opening ceremony and was the principle lecturer. He said “The Law Enforcement Investigation Organization is a legal, non-governmental organization which is approved by the United Nations Charter and under the Thai constitution.”

Who is the mysterious Mr XXXXXX?

So it seems that Niels Colov is in the furniture business, but who is Mr XXXX?

Copycat furniture designed by well known international furniture designers is for sale at B-B-Club, a new show room for designer furniture, that opened in Pattaya in Thailand on 8 February 2007.
"Some of the furniture items on the company’s webpage http://www.b-b-cl... are clearly copies of well known designers," says Tore Kristensen, a design expert at Copenhagen Business School.
"I immediately recognised the Barcelona Chair," he adds with reference to Mies van der Rohes famous chair from 1929.
XXXXX, one of the two Danes behind the new show room, says the furniture is designed by various Danish designers as well as by himself.
"I design some of it myself and other pieces are designed by various designers I know in Denmark," XXXXX says.
This claim is suported by the website where it on the day of publishing this article said:
"Our in-house designers have monitored the trends and created furniture items that fit the demand of the consumers on the world stage right now."

    The world famous Pattaya Chair
Tore Kristensen's copycat verdict is based on what is on display on B-B-Club’s webpage – which is more or less the same as is sold in the showroom, pointing at some pieces of furniture as copies of famous pieces of furniture by le Corbusier and others as copies of Charles Eames creations.
"It is not difficult to copy furniture. A quick look in Taschens 1000 chairs and a trip to a museum in order to measure the chair, and then it is ready for production," says Tore Kristensen.
After ‘designing’ the furniture, it is produced in China and shipped to Thailand where it is sold from the showroom at prices that are far lower than what you would pay for the original designs.

    Big expansion plans
The future plan of B-B-Club is to open an even bigger showroom in Pattaya.
"We do not have enough room for all our items as it is now, so we are looking into the possibility of purchasing some land for a 2000 square meter show room," says Niels Colov. He emphasises that all plans for the future depend on an evaluation which will take place between the two partners in about three months.
"Our hope is to open more stores in Thailand on a franchise basis and also expand into other luxury goods. That is why we have called it B-B-Club and not B-B-Furniture," he says. The idea of the club is that you can pay a 3500 baht membership fee per year and then you are entitled to furniture with a 30 – 60 per cent discount.
B-B-Club’s furniture is not limited to the private consumers.
"We hope that we can make some of the Pattaya hotels realise that they could double their room prices if they let us be in charge of interior decoration," says Niels Colov who has lived in Thailand for many years.

B-B as in Bed & Beauty?
The B&B idea is not new. XXXXX is the previous owner of Bed & Beauty stores in Copenhagen. According to the other owner, Niels Colov, XXXXX closed Bed & Beauty just before Christmas 2006 in order to start B-B-Club in Thailand.
A glance at the webpage of the previous company shows that designing and selling this type of furniture is nothing new to XXXXX. The new thing is the opening up in Thailand in partnership with Niels Colov.
Tore Kristensen has seen many stores like B-B-Club before and he does not think that B-B-Club will run into legal problems any time soon.
"The risk of getting caught is minimal when you copy furniture in Asia. But in Europe it is a different thing," says Tore Kristensen.

    Update:
Et navn er redigeret væk og erstattet med XXXXX af Admin, efter anmodning fra den navngivet person.

Lets go back to 2002, now I remember this vaguely, there was one expat club for Pattaya and then suddenly there was 2, I didn't know the reason why nor did I care, I mean meeting a bunch of old geriatrics and listening to their pathetic problems over breakfast isn't my idea of fun, or listening to speakers that are only basically speaking for financial profit rather altruistic reasons wasn't on my to do list.

scroll right down, link doesn't work to the full story as for some reason it has been taken down, probably find it if you have a poke round the directories though.

his qualifications doesn't seem right, I wonder which one are true, which ones were fabricated. He seem to be more in journalism and PR than "financing". Very strange. I bet a quick scan of SEC files could reveal if he was indeed registered or licensed.

that got to be a pisstake, a journalist and even a broker is not a financial expert

History Of Drew Noyes in Thailand

In December, 1997, following a Royal Proclamation, Drew Walter Noyes, Sr. and other American financial experts went to Thailand to see if they could help by offering advice on how Thailand could get out of the Asian Financial Crisis and receive IMF funding.

Drew's uncle had worked on a United Nation’s World Peace project with a high-ranking member of the Thai Royal Family in New York and recommended Drew to go. Drew's father who graduated from Harvard University a few years ahead of Thailand’s beloved King (born in Cambridge, Massachusetts) agreed. So Drew went to Thailand for the first time.

Drew fell in love with the majestic beauty of the people, the exotic culture and the diversity, tolerance and kindness in Thailand and decided to make Thailand his home. He stayed in Bangkok to establish a business under the Treaty of Amity between Thailand and the USA.

That year Drew became enchanted in Thai language, culture and the Thai society. The loving way Thais take care of children and the elderly touched his heart. Drew married a warm-hearted Thai lady. Now, after ten years in Thailand he is a loving father and is rewarded with many dear friends.

As a recognized business expert, Drew Noyes has been invited to numerous Thai government seminars on the Foreign Business Act (FBA), the Condominium Act as Revised in 2008 and Thai visa, civil and commercial law symposiums as they apply to foreigners in Thailand. Drew works in the capital of Bangkok and at his offices in Pattaya, the most popular beach destination in all of Asia.

In 1998, Drew Noyes and his Thai partners began operating what became the largest American-managed advertising, promotion and publishing companies in Thailand, Pattaya Advertising, Promotion and Publishing Alliance. In 2000 they expanded and incorporated P.A.P.P.A. Co., Ltd.

PAPPA Co., Ltd. was the exclusive, official souvenir merchandiser for the Bangkok International Film Festival, Thailand's largest, annual International event.

PAPPA Co., Ltd. is the publisher and exclusive distributor of many publications making Drew Noyes the largest foreign publisher in Thailand. They print the reference book the Official Thailand Survival Guide, the Official Maps of Pattaya, the Pattaya Business Telephone Book and Thailand’s leading entertainment magazine for men since 1998, Thailand Spice.

Seven years ago he and a leading Thai lawyer, Piasan Thanook, added a Legal Division to their company, PAPPA Co., Ltd. and have aided hundreds of foreigners in Thailand. They provide Thai company formation, Board of Investment (BOI) qualification, business registration and management services as well as prenuptial agreements, purchase and sale contracts for property, ways to secure foreign investment on real estate by recording mortgages and long term leases. They also specialize in obtaining long-stay visas in Thailand for their foreign clients from around the world. PAPPA Co., Ltd. offers free information on the website:Pattaya Lawyers.

In 2006 they added a Tour & Travel Division which holds a coveted license from the Tourism Authority of Thailand to handle inbound tourists, MICE participants and other groups into Thailand.

In 2003, Drew Noyes was also elected Managing Director of Property Management & Development Company, Ltd. which manages housing and condominium owners' associations and has a unique program to help foreigners buy property legally in Thailand with all the rights of ownership.

In 2008 Drew Noyes was appointed Managing Director of Pattaya Times Media Corporation, Co., Ltd. which works with the publishing and advertising divisions of PAPPA Company Limited on new publications like the Pattaya Times newspaper.

Awards in Thailand Bestowed Upon Drew Noyes for Accomplishments

In 2005 Drew Noyes became a ceremonial recipient of the Her Majesty Queen of the Kingdom of Thailand, Queen Sirikit’s Service Merit medallion award at a ceremony on the Army base of the Queen’s Royal Guard. Over the last 10 years he has been distinguished by receiving Thai Royal, military and governmental awards rarely given to foreigners.

"Coveted"? Another one for the bullshit list. TAT licences cost 10,000 Baht. It just takes a bunch of photos, one form, and a 10 minute wait at the provincial TAT office to get one.

Now not everybody can be a member of the Pattaya Rotary Club and I don't think Leon Erling Fristrup Jensen was, although you never know, he was a Pattaya business man after all, handsome chap aint he. (probably not allowed back into Thailand)

He seems to have been extremely unlucky in life and persecuted, arrest after arrest and conviction after conviction, infact nearly half his life has been spent in different prisons in Denmark.

It beggars the question: How did this chap manage to get a Visa for Thailand, in fact how did the before mentioned names, get theirs?

    From Pattaya People.

A 9 monk Buddhist (tamboon) memorial service was held on the morning of the 2nd February for Somsak Martin Frutin, who passed away at the age of 69, on the 25th January in Bangkok Hospital Pattaya. The traditional religious service for the deceased was organised by his adopted son Khun Sompop Dargate and held at Somsak Martin’s Marfru Palace home in Jomtien. The service was attended by close friends and fellow Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Pattaya who paid their respects to the well liked character, who over the years has supported many charity and fundraising activities in Pattaya.

Sadly still don't get to see his dead carcass, but you do get to see all his good friends and buddies....
