Thai Beverage -have they gone mad?

Have you seen the "revamped" Beer Chang beer and the bottle labels?

It's all in English, now the locals can't even understand what their favourite beer is...

If you showed them the bottle today, (Chang Classic) they wouldn't know if it was shit or sugar!

It's billed as a PREMIUM LAGER...I thought Lager was aged a bit, the bottles I have have barely aged a week.

Are they aiming at the international market? Touting some brewers award they won 10 years ago?

Do they REALLY think they can sell a 6.4% Alc Beer in the Uk?

Can you imagine the UK city cenrtres after everyone has had a skinful of Chang? and the Uk economy on a Monday morning....it's suicide!

Aside from the Everton strip, I've never see Chang anywhere in the UK.

Do they REALLY think they can sell a 6.4% Alc Beer in the Uk?
    Not a chance.

Well, from the change of labels and the boxes....Britain Beware! The police are going to need riot gear on a weekend if they start selling that in the UK!

As someone who does not drink beer, what would the alcohol content be in a beer in the UK?

It varies, from 2% for the worst urine possible, (The Federation brewery used to produce a drink called ACE lager...) it rises to atound 3.4% for the average urine available like a standard brew, it then increases to about 5% for an imported or brewed under license drinkable beer, loke a Stella, or that ilk, Mc Ewans lager used to be about 3.5%, more likely to die of vommitting than alcohol poisoning, Newcastle Brown ale was 4.7%...so you see, the UK is not ready for 6.4% Chang. They will become extremely violent, once primed with something of that nature...they already struggle to behave with the 5% crap, like MACLA

and the beer here doesn't even get a chance to age FULL STOP! Neither at the brewery or in the bottle. How on earth can they describe CHANG as a LAGER!!! never in a million years.

Chang would not sell in the UK market at 6.4 %. I reckon the taxman would have quite a large chunk.

Alot of the Uk's stronger brewers have reduced the strength of their brands because of tax.

I'm still left wondering why Singha in Thailand was reduced from 6% to 5%

Please tell me what "shite" you refer to, and as for a "competitive market for real ales," Like where students try to get the price down to less than the manufacturing costs? where on earth is that market? at the fucking "Student Union?" only complete cunts like them drink that SHIT! "I say nigel, isn't this Theakstons Fat Cock really delicious?"

"Indeed Jeremy, it's lack of head and warm taste do it immense favours...tally ho!" Oh by the way isn't that Roger over their vomitting into the punch?

Oh yes, he must have supped on something with a bit of gas left in it, disgusting! Try a sip of my OLD FAT BOYS PRICK, it's as warm as toast, flat as a fart, but brewed here on the premesis in a "micro brewery" by dwarves with no cocks, delicious, and we got them down to tuppence a pint!

Well, ther is a first, just been up to the 7/11, (it's just gone 3am) to buy some incecticide, as the bee population has gone beserk outside, and are coming in everywhere. There must be a hundred thousand of the fuckers coming through any opening available!!!!

Apparently the "law" doesn't allow them to "sell" alcohol at this hour, as the kind girl pointed out with her little card that tells you the hours that alcohol is and isn't allowed to be sold.

I bought some fags, (no not the ones from the student union that drink warm flat beer called names like "John Waddlows Cock") and a large bottle of Baygon + the illicit can of Chang.

Anyway, after her trying to explain to me you can't buy alcohol at this hour, she rings everything through the till except the beer, so, that's it, fair enough!

But not the end of story, she then takes the money for the beer on the sly, so to speak, it's not on the receipt,, she takes it from my change!

I want to kiss and thank her, but she is a bit rough, but isn't this a fantastic system?

6.4% is ok. They've been selling Tennents Stupor and Special Brew for years and they are both 8% plus.

When Singha first exported to UK it was 6.4 and in 355ml bottles, but was quickly reduced to 6.0 and 330ml bottles to avoid an extra high import tax.

Why it has been reduced to 5.0 puxxles me too.

They introduced also a lighter Singha Gold that was brewed under license in Germany, but it didn't take off.

I can remember 15 or so years ago when they attempted to export Singha Beer and they could not receive FDA approval in most countries (something to do with dangerous levels of formaldehyde). Thats when they come up with Singha Gold.

It still amazes me how anyone can drink the shit (Thai Beer) as it tastes horrible and leaves me with a huge headache.
