| Went back in that site, and read the sections on "First Nite in AC" and the one on drink and barfine prices in a large number of bars. Again, quite good. One of the bars he recommends in "First Nite" is the Roadhouse, on Fields Ave. I always used to start my run there. Quiet, clean, well-run - lots of local guys drop in for Happy Hour. A good place to get an initial feel for the street and basic survival information. A bit tamer than many, but a good oasis/port in the storm. |
