I was over earlier this year to visit a mate but found the place very quiet ( June ) is it busier now?
May come over later this year for a flying visit.

The tourist season has just started, albeit it aint gonna be a good one this year.
I have heard from a couple of people on holiday there this week.
They 'claim' it is busy ?
Their hotel is full and Walking Street is busy, but is it busy with Chinese, Koreans and Indians just doing 'looky-looky' with a coke bought from 7-11 ?

I think it can be a fun place with really good places to eat, but last time I saw a couple of incidents where drunk ( sadly brits ) were really asking to be attacked by Thais after throwing stuff around one of the street bars.
I don't believe any hotel in Pattaya with more than 15 rooms is full at this time, as for proper hotels of 100 rooms plus, not a chance in hell.
Shame when idiots let the side down eh.^^

THere are rumour of a bumper season - how true is hard to say - but hotels have been experiencing difficulty in ordering the required quantities of beer based on estimates on bookings received.
Cant beat good old fashioned rumours, shame that they are most likely just that, rumours that is, aint no beer shortage in Pattaya or Jomtien nor is there likely to be.Originally Posted by wilko

i like pattis better in the quiet season, december is to crowdy for me and the bar fine are up to about 1500 bath in the ago gos. Most of the stunners are taken and the rest is makeing more money having lady drinks and do short time rather then makeing a man happy all night for cheap pay.
! how rude is that!!!!!
i LIKE TO HAVE THE AGOGO ALL TO MY LONESOME !!!
IS THAT TO MUCH TO ASK!!! HMMM
I DINK NOT
but still I will spent my next 6 month there, only a short jobsession in nov/dec.
Two 18teen year old blowing my ............yes thank you
life is good in pattis, the tropical paradise, the peace and quiet, the loving and sharing, the absence of crime. The outstanding quality of urban planning and the smooth traffic. The cleanness

well, I tried to book a few 5 stars hotel for this week-end, and they were all full !!! or were asking ridiculous price. Sheraton wanted 8,000 THB a night or some other non-sense.Originally Posted by dirtydog
I suspect they shutdown a few floors to reduce their supply of rooms, so it might be true.
I live here and could not advise whether the place is busy or not as I rarely venture over to the Western side of Sukhumvit Road.
It never changes in East Pattaya and with regard to the numbers of tourists as thankfully not too many tourists know about the Darkside and I hope it remains that way.
It looked quite empty when I was there last Sunday.

A mate of mine got back from Patters last monday and he said it was starting to get busier as he was leaving but then again it was totally dead when he arrived 4 weeks ago. Pissed down every day of his holiday.

I guess the regulars will always be there. Exchange rate ok and no political probs now.
But I did see an awful lot of Indians and Japanese in the bars...Economy different there.

Is it better to go in low season or high season?
^Depends whether you like crowds and sloppy seconds or not I suppose.
