So does anyone know where to buy some whale in Bangkok?
Okay I'm sorry Larv. But those of you who really do care about the 40,000 children should sell off your amenities and save them or you are just full of shit. Hypocrites. Your Tv could save 10 lives. That new DVD you bought could feed a dying child, a dying child. If you really give a shit you would not have any amenities or spend you time typing about why people should be eating whales here. There are people dying out there, go and save them; or just be full of shit.

Whales are damn good eating. They have crunchy bits, blubbery bits and red meat bits like steak! Yumm!

That was sort of my point, why get so militant about a few fish that are not even a threatened species when there are far worse injustices to get riled up about, either you go the full monty or you "are full of s..." but if it is so, that fish are more important to you than innocent children, then that is of cause up to you, just don't expect everybody to agree with that.
I for my part find it perfectly OK what they do on the Faroe Isles, and as far as the children goes I pay 50% tax to the Country that gives most in foreign aid as % of GDP in the world + I support quite a few poor people here in Thailand, that is as far as I am going to go, and I feel just fine with that.
But you will never find me trying to burn down Eskimo Igloos (which is pretty hard to do) just because they hunt seals for food, just as you wont find me wasting my time playing superior or being arrogant with Faeroe fishermen, people living up there are far more environment conscious than we will ever be, and take care of their nature resource's out of necessity, you see!- they know they cant survive without them.
There are plenty of practices which the world used to condone which it now condemns. The boys in the pics killing the whales don't look too hard up. The fact that they get 30% of their meat from whales doesn't mean that they have no other choices. I'm sure their sons and daughters aren't all staying there nowadays. If they have left and entered the world community then maybe they should be a part of it. If they wear the clothing of the world and use the internet, which they do, then they should start working away from this BS.
Some people think that the loss of all the other species is just natural or God's will. It shows how selfish and out-of-control we are. People are the problem. The day will come when we realise it. As the rest of the natural world disappears, people face each other more and more and that can only lead to more conflict. When people see their own facing extinction, the issue becomes real.

It's not the eating of meat that bothers me; it's the loss of animals and unnecessary cruelty that does.

Lemmeesee...
Here's some cows getting stuck to make your steak dinner
And some Thai pigs...hmm, love that bacon
And a chookie
Get over it. You want to eat meat, somebody has to kill it. You pansies think meat comes in styrofoam containers at Tesco.
The whaling in the Faroes will solve itself. The Whales are so polluted with mercury etc, that in a few years the islanders won't be able to breed.
Actually I thought it had allready been forbidden due to health risks.
Jewish Schaektning(?); not nice to look at either.
Can't criticise that one though.

I think peaches scream when you pluck them from the tree. The libbies tell me so. Who's that chick on our board that says so..musty mound?
I hear voices too. Not libbie ones thoughOriginally Posted by Jet Gorgon

Wehrn the rice combine is harvesting the rice, the noise that you hear is not the diesel engine but the millions of kernels of rice crying for their lives. If you are a Christian, you think God gave you dominion over all creatures, a Muslim, same same, just do not eat pork, the Jews want you to have all you eat to be blessed by some other man before being fit to eat, the Buddahist at least condone not killing any creature, but when you give a monk some chicken curry to eat at the morning donation, he does not refuse to eat.

Why would you want your children to live in a polluted world without natural beauty? I guess if you've never seen nature's beauty you might not be able to appreciate it.
But truthfully, there's little hope in my view of changing people so we are all pretty much doomed. The only way to less overall destruction of our natural world is the destruction of man. That day will come as man is selfdestructive. At that point in time, only the horribly-selfish will prevail.
Are you ready for another mass extinction ?
Cold hard fact is the planet really doesn't need humans and too many will only unleash natures defenses against those children , against humanity , as she would a virus or parasite. Her defenses-pathogen, weather, drought, etc..
She'll rid herself of most , a few who can adapt will survive.
May they give rise to a new human .
However the eco systems do need each and every animal, plant etc. particularly top predators such as sharks
We have done little but destroy and now it is done on a massive scale how many billions of humans - how much shit how much degradation deforestation ?
Too bad we're taking so many other species with us .

The Japanese round up Dolphins and perform a similar very bloody ritual massacre in some island bay. The animals are not an endangered species, however.
I can imagine that Western grain lots and meat slaughter / production lines being equally or more abhorrent to some other cultures, tbh.
The worst thing for me is the "finning" of sharks, and the throwing the dying shark back into the sea. Such waste, and the rapid endangering of some species that is a serious disturbance to the marine ecological order, which we will no doubt reap the wind of..
Yep Agree with you there kmart, shark fining is far more damaging to the species and the environment.
