    http://www.pattayaone.net/news/2009/october/new s_3...

American found dead in the back garden of his house.

Pattaya, October 31 [PATTAYA ONE NEWS] : On Saturday Afternoon, Police Lieutenant Colonel Supashat, Deputy Chief of Banglamung Police Station was called to house number 30/11 at the Swiss Paradise Village located in East Pattaya following the discovery of a badly decomposed body, thought to be that of the American owner of the house. A maid working in a nearby house noticed a strong odor coming from the victim’s house and spotted the body of a man lying in the garden. The Police were called and examined the body of the man who is thought to be Mr. Mohammed Belhadef aged 56 from USA. He was lying close to steps leading from the back porch to the garden and next to a beach umbrella which had fallen on the body. The man is thought to have been dead for at least 5 days which corresponds with his birthday which is 26th October 1953. The cause of death is unknown at this time and nothing untoward was found inside the house. Police will wait for the results of a post mortem examination before they proceed with this case in conjunction with the US Embassy in Bangkok who has been informed.

No suicide here as those Pattaya beach umbrella's are probably the most sleeziest, vicious umbrella's in the world ready to stab you in the back when your not looking.

Yeah that's right, you need to have a Polish surname to be from the US. Or Irish. Or English. Or Italian. Or Japanese. Or Chinese...

Mohammed Belhadef came to study in the Unites States of America when he was 20 years old.
He had received a scholarship from his native Algeria to attend the University of Southern California. Shortly after,
he became a naturalized American Citizen.
At USC he excelled academically and made the Dean's List several times. He studied Control Systems in Electrical
Engineering. He got his BSEE and MSEE in 1977/1978.
Upon graduation, he joined the Jet Propulsion Lab in Pasadena California where he worked from 1978 thru the early
90's. At the same time, he was enrolled in the PHD program at USC, completed all the academic requirements, and had
only to finish his dissertation to receive his PHD degree. At JPL he was instrumental in the Voyager crafts
exploration of Jupiter and Saturn and contributed to the discoveries of active volcanoes on Jupiter's moon Io and
Saturn's rings. During the 90’s to the present, he worked for the defense industry at Loral, Martin-Marietta
(Lockheed-Martin), and Hughes satellites (Boeing IDS).
He enjoyed hiking, running marathons, and traveling. He visited Thailand and fell in love with the country and its
people, and decided to visit there as much as work permitted. Eventually he built a house there.
His family received the news of his death thru the embassy only a couple of days ago, and they are desperately
seeking information about the circumstances of his death. If anyone has any knowledge as far as contacts in Thailand
or anything that would be beneficial in their quest, please post it on this blog, they would greatly appreciate it
Mohammed was a loyal and generous friend on whom you could always count. He will be missed by his family and friends.
    Thank you

    Hydra,

Farewell to a man who seemed to have contributed much. Please accept condolences and apologies for the more insensitive comments.

If you are a member of his family, please be aware in many situations, Thai authorities are not the most reliable in timely and competent investigations and lying is a perfectly acceptable solution to get rid of insistant relatives .
You may have to get .....rude.

I would strongly suggest you DO NOT have the body creamated until you are satisfied with CoD , hire your own pathologist if it is affordable or at least have private tissue sampes taken.

Go to Phi Phi deaths thread for revelations on foreigner deaths .

    Peace
