David Wilshire, the disgraced Conservative MP, has compared the treatment of politicians over their expense claims to the plight of Jews in Nazi Germany.

Mr Wilshire, who was forced to resign after paying more than £100,000 in expenses to his own company, said the “witch hunt” against MPs “will undermine democracy”.
“Branding a whole group of people as undesirables led to Hitler’s gas chambers,” he added.


The Tory MP used his office expenses to write to all his constituents defending his claims and attacking The Daily Telegraph.
Voters in his Spelthorne constituency were surprised to receive a two-page letter, written on Commons notepaper and sent using taxpayer-funded pre-paid envelopes, in which he said that he was “devastated” at having to stand down.
A voter who emailed to protest at Mr Wilshire’s behaviour received the reply in which Mr Wilshire compared MPs whose claims were exposed during the expenses scandal to Holocaust victims.

What a dickwad. Caught with his fingers in the till he comes up with a comment like this. Obviously , history not his strong point. Mind you, if these politicians did all end up in the gas chamber I wonder if there would be an outcry ?

British people don't care anyway anymore. With their soaps and reality no-hopes, they have evolved in to sloths.

Crikey teddy that's a very broad brush you're sweeping with there, which land of liberated conciousness to you hail from then?

I am surprised how any MP who has betrayed the trust of constituents/taxpayers for financial gain could possibly expect sympathy from those very same people. It merely displays how selfish and out of touch he has become. Goodbye Mr Wilshire, hopefully you will be replaced by someone more trustworthy.

The old 'I was obeying the rules' excuse. Doesn't wash anymore.

Typical sensationalist sound-bite quote that indicates this fool to be rather out of touch with his electorate and the world generally.

Don't let the door hit your fat arse on the way out, Mr Wilshire.

Indeed, what a totally offensive, utterly nasty, stupid man he is.

I abhor such types. People like him are exactly the reason the UK is in such a mess. Totally disconnected from reality, avoids personal responsibility and without a shred of decency or integrity.
