bit touchy there? look at my earlier post, you'll find a little humour was intended . . . I don't come here to wind people up, happily owned/rode HDs for a short 8yrs of my now 32yrs riding, and I'll quote you here "I ride what I ride for the joy of riding" it's a good life isn't it!

I don't think Thais call it waving. Its known as ' the half wai ' . Years ago, when motorcycles first appeared on the road you got the full wai. So many people died they had to make it illegal. Pity really as some of these wheely pulling , red haired teenagers could benefit from a few more social graces.

I saw a hilarious review of a Harley on the MCN website this morning, but Dad and Unkle Ned will sock me again if I post it.

Wai whilst driving !

That brought back memories.

Was on a visa run a few years ago- Myanmar via The Andeman Club at Ranong.
Just before you get to the ferry terminal on the Thai side there is a large Chinese/Thai graveyard where the old governors of Ranong are buried.
It is on a narrow and twisty bit of road.

In the minibus passing it, and the bus wandered towards the ditch - the bloody driver was doin the full Wai thing !
Head down, eyes closed, both hands reverently clasped in front of him !!
Everybody on the bus yelled at him .
Too late !!
Front wheel hit the roadside and ripped the front tyre off, bus tilted to 45 degrees and, thank f*ck, rocked back onto its wheels.
Driver was only saved from lynching by the arrival of another mini bus.

Which reminds me that on one of my first visits to Thailand I had just walked up Silom Road and stopped for a breather in front of The Dusit Thani Hotel. A few seconds later a coach edged out of the hotel onto Rama 4. All the Thai passengers on the coach seemed to be looking out of the window and wai ing me. I knew about the wai then but this reverence towards me took me by surprise but thinking ' when in Rome ...etc ' I respectfully wai ed back. This made them smile and laugh, adding to my confusion until the yarm tapped me on the shoulder and pointed out I was standing in front of the hotel shrine.

When you get new tyres fitted to your bike. You will notice hairs of rubber sticking out from the tyre.
Thus if you see a biker with hairs of rubber still on the contact edge of the tyre. Then he still has his chicken strips intact. As he fails (chicken) to lean the bike right over in a corner to scrub them off.

So next time you see Marmers or Frankie or Neddy posting pics of their bikes. Take a close look at their tyres.

Have just spent 2 f*ckin hours with a can of Gillette Foamy and buggered up 2 Mach 3 blades removing the shameful evidence from my 2 year old 'Air Blade'

Thanks chaps I now feel like a REAL 'ARD BIKER !

To show the snortin beast who was boss I didn't apply soothing cream and aftershave - that will teach the bastard !!

I waved at a lot of Harley/Crusier bikers yesterday. Out by the Pak Chong area.
Also flicked the "bird" at every black Vigo thinking Nawty might be driving it.

I dont think it should be called a wave as its more of a acknowledgement by another rider,
A wave sounds a bit gay and the next thing you know wannabe bikers like Nawty will be waving to each other
