I make the 'kwai' hand signal at them.

What can they do except explode in rage while stuck in their Hilux as I'm gone on my bike.

Pull down yer face mask to make sure they see it's a foreigner, while doing it.

    Great fun.

yup. they do that here whenever it rains also, bikes just stop anywhere on the road that has cover, i've seen 4 lanes out of 5 blocked under a fly over, so the cvnts could stay dry, and police directing traffic around them

I agree with SPIN,don't stop and swear as much as you like if it makes you feel better
as long as they don't hear.
When I first came to the LOS I drove the same as i would back in the U.K.
    WHAT A MISTAKE!!!!!!!!
I had to slow down and forget about it being my right of way,the highway code
practised here would just cause too many accidents.A farang will always be at
fault because it would not have happened if he had stayed in his own Country.

I think that must be RULE 1 in the Thai's version of the highway code.
    Here's lookin' at you.

unfortunately the transition from tree swinging to big, shiny, hilux driving was far too short for them.

luckily they have insect stalls at the side of the road now though so they don't have to stop to go off scavaging.

I struggle with my generally negative view on many parts of Thai culture and the Thai psyche, but you mate have a real problem, have you thought of counseling

    ok

Really. ok explain why a Mazda car oil filter ended up on a Suzuki bike after an oil change at a bike shop. wrong thread pitch and fucked it up. Explain why 2 engineers moved a water tank 2.5 metres then the water would not flow because they didnt check the flow rate on the pump 1st. explain to me how A lot of thai's do not know what the fuck an indicator is. And never wrong thats what this 'face' bullshit is all about. Some thais will kill ya or beat ya rather than lose face. if thats not fucking retarded. i for one dont know what is.

Jandajoy i havent been on this forum much. but i've been in Thailand a fair bit of time.
And tripe what a wonderful word. I havent heard that since my grandfather passed away. god rest his soul.

on the whole i agree with this particulary their driving skills (or lack of ) as some of you know i have just finished restoring my sabre 750 I did most of the work myself but somthings i just dont have the tools for or find it hard to get the spares. I was lucky to find a big bike shop owened and ran by Thai guy he and his mechanc are top notch they care about big bikes and are bikers themselves, They dont add farang Tax (rip me off) they are a great bunch of guys i go drink with them reguarly and i cant speak fook all Thai.

Sounds to me like Colorado mountain driving in the sixties. People would stop their car in the turn on a two lane blind corner to take a picture of the scenery. 300 foot drop on the side of the mountain. AND THEY WOULD LEAVE THE ROAD SIDE CAR DOOR OPEN. What flippin idiots. So it's not just Thailand. It's idiots in the world who have mistakenly been given permission to drive a motor vehicle. In the USA, (California) big monster pickup truck drivers are the worst, the rudest, and the biggest a-wholes on the road.

Resurrecting an old ranting thread of mine - rather than start a new one !

Had a classic narrow escape last night !
Was riding home from Phuket town about 10 pm
In front of me were the tail lights of another motocy
BUT THEY WERE GETTING BIGGER !

At the last minute I realised that they were in fact the headlights on another motocy coming towards me on the wrong side of the road at a high rate of knots - with a trendy RED lens in the headlight!

I swerved just in time and missed a 'headon' by a coat of paint !

The twat then ran straight into a moblie noodle stall sidecar that was directly behind me !

I continued my ride home !!

    F*ckin idiots !

And folks is saying that Thailand is a cool and safe, beautiful country to ride motorcycles in.
I will have to disagree and do not have a road bike any longer and will never ride one in Thailand again.
Like a guy know said, He was thinking of going home and riding and cruising until he got tired of it and coming back here later..
