Switzerland - Man breaks 15 laws in 11 minutes

Man breaks 15 laws in 11 minutes

A driver has confounded Swiss police by committing 15 traffic violations in just over 10 minutes, officials say.

The 47-year-old initially raced past an unmarked police car in heavy rain at 160 km/h (100mph) before weaving close to other cars and the road's kerb.

The serial offender clocked up further offences for speeding, driving on the hard shoulder, running a set of red lights and failing to stop for police.

When finally pulled over by St Gallen police, he failed a drugs test.

The unnamed driver, who lives near Zurich, faces a lengthy driving ban and a possible jail sentence when he appears before a Swiss court.

"I can't remember a case this serious," a police spokeswoman told the BBC of Sunday's infringement spree. "It's remarkable."

^ Those cops in Switzerland should be sent to Salford for a few weeks to wake them up a bit. during the 90's when car crime was at its peak, some kids there stole a Ford Sapphire Sierra Cosworth off the police and had the cops chase them for a few hours before they set it on fire, took photos and sent the images to the local newspapers for them to put on the front page the day after.

    Link please.

I knew they did it in Newcastle in 1993 but not Salford. Pair 'stole pounds 21,000 police car' - UK, News - The Independent

Two men played cat and mouse with police after stealing a pounds 21,000 Ford Sierra Cosworth from the Northumbria Police compound, Newcastle Crown Court was told. It was alleged that Paul Oliver, 22, and Ian Howard, 23, both from North Shields, dodged police by listening in on the car's radio scanner, which they waved at officers as they cruised past them. The trial continues.

Did it not enter your head that I have made an error with the location?

The link you posted makes no mention of the car being burned. Did you see the photos of the car on fire?

Also here in the comments section down the page

So it was Salford, and Newcastle, and maybe somewhere else. Stealing a Cosworth off the police must have been like finding the holy grail back then. I'm sure plenty of kids were trying.

Yeh, if Dizzyfunk says so then it must be true
    Dizzyfunk says;
One funny moment was when a few of “the boys” got “ballied up” nicked a Police RS Cosworth (the first one in salford by all accounts) and battered up and down Fallowfield, ripping the doors off on lamposts etc before setting it on fire. Someone (you know who you are ha ha) taped it on a video camera and dubbed a rap tune over it. It did the rounds for months. It was even more popular than that one with the pit bulls twattin each other.
oh well, cest la vie innit ya bastards!!!!
Give me a link to a reputable news site, not just some blog by a lowlife chav.

The incident in Ordsall, Salford happened and is real. End of story.

You didn't answer the question about whether or not the police car in Newcastle was burned out or not?

Almost every car that was stolen at the time was torched, this one would certainly have been no different.

So you didn't actually see, in person, any photos in the papers of the car actually on fire? Right.

So the incident you're talking about in Newcastle is not the one the happened in Salford, as I saw the photos of the Salford one.

Care to describe the vehicle? If you can

The point is, the story about the one in Salford was simply an urban myth created from what really happened in Newcastle.

What are you having trouble understanding? Stick to your Chav blog sites Spin.

Why cant you give me a straight answer about whether you saw the photos of the car on fire?

A simple yes or no will do. I don't believe the incident in Newcastle ended with the vehicle on fire.
