Thread: Power Plugs and Wire Grounding Thai Style

Ok I have the following questions about wire grounding. I have heard a rumor that when Thais ground the wires in a house, they wire the ground with the negative wire. Is that true ? if yes is that dangerous ? does this mean that it is still grounded ?

Also, European plugs into Wall Outlets here do not have the ground plug in the middle like in the rest of civilized Europe (the UK is too specific so they differ from the rest of Europe). Therefore many equipment sold here that have a ground plug can't be wire grounded properly because the ground outlets here will be US standards, not Euro standards.

How do you solve this ? all my electrical equipments have Euro plugs.

Am I fucked ?

Appliances with the 2-pole Euro plugs don't have a ground wire, because there are no metal parts on the outside (at least in Europe).
Grounding is part of the regulations for new buildings in Thailand, but for improvement of an existing place, I'd consider a circuit breaker instead. Works well for me.

I have built-in circuit breakers in all the house. It's new so hopefully it will be properly grounded
