CIA Report: Israel to fall in 20 years

Please interpret this as you see it. Possible, yes. Probable, yes.

The "demographic issue has been discussed for some time.

Israel will fall in 20 years
    Fri, 13 Mar 2009

    Link: http://www.presstv.com/detail.aspx?i...onid=351020202

A study conducted by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) has cast doubt over Israel's survival beyond the next 20 years.

The CIA report predicts "an inexorable movement away from a two-state to a one-state solution, as the most viable model based on democratic principles of full equality that sheds the looming specter of colonial Apartheid while allowing for the return of the 1947/1948 and 1967 refugees. The latter being the precondition for sustainable peace in the region."

The study, which has been made available only to a certain number of individuals, further forecasts the return of all Palestinian refugees to the occupied territories, and the exodus of two million Israeli - who would move to the US in the next fifteen years.

"There is over 500,000 Israelis with American passports and more than 300,000 living in the area of just California," International lawyer Franklin Lamb said in an interview with Press TV on Friday, adding that those who do not have American or western passport, have already applied for them.

"So I think the handwriting at least among the public in Israel is on the wall...[which] suggests history will reject the colonial enterprise sooner or later," Lamb stressed.

He said CIA, in its report, alludes to the unexpectedly quick fall of the apartheid government in South Africa and recalls the disintegration of the Soviet Union in the early 1990s, suggesting the end to the dream of an 'Israeli land' would happen 'way sooner' than later.

The study further predicts the return of over one and a half million Israelis to Russia and other parts of Europe,
and denotes a decline in Israeli births whereas a rise in the Palestinian population.

Lamb said given the Israeli conduct toward the Palestinians and the Gaza strip in particular, the American public -- which has been voicing its protest against Tel Aviv's measures in the last 25 years -- may 'not take it anymore'.

Some members of the US Senate Intelligence Committee have been informed of the report.

    From jihadwatch.org

    Their take on report.

Fitzgerald: What the collapse of Israel would cost

    http://www.jihadwatch.org/2009/10/fi...cost.html#more
"Online reports of a study by the US Central Intelligence Agency cast doubt over the survival of Israel beyond the next two decades. Regardless of the validity of the report, with what is now known about the costs in blood and treasure that the U.S.-Israeli relationship has imposed on the U.S., its key ally, Israel could fall within five years." - from a broadcast at Al-Arabiya here

seems to me the only question that needs to be asked is how this can be expedited.

The "Demographic problem" for Israel - it's called the "demographic problem" by Israelis - has been discussed and extensively studied for years.

It's about numbers. Demographics. Population and population growth.

Well how ironic. This one state solution was exactly what was suggested by Colonel Gaddafi many years ago, and rejected by all and sundry- most vehemently by the Israeli's. There is no question that the demographics for Israel look pretty bleak- even more so if you look at the map, and it's neighbourhood.

While I don't personally see the problem with a one state democracy, obviously the Israeli's do- Israel, they say, is a Jewish state. If so, they need to make peace with their neighbours, and we all know how that will happen- by the ending of the occupation and the formation of a Palestinian state. The offer is on the table. We do not need to go back too far in history to then have some optimism for a sustainable Israeli state- actually, the Jewish populations in the Muslim countries fared better than they did in Europe and Russia. The current bitter enmity is not a long term historic thing, it is a function of the formation of the state of Israel, and subsequent conflicts. Israel would continue to have support from the West also, which is no small thing- although I doubt the current largesse shown to them is sustainable, or even warranted.

One state or two state solution, the current situation is not sustainable. Even Menachin Begin and Ariel Sharon realised this in the end, as did the previous PM of Israel- so I view the current governments attitude as a threat to their own national survival.

    They're working on the problem.

"Avigdor Lieberman of Yisrael Beiteinu, the fourth largest faction in the 17th Knesset, is one of the foremost advocates of the transfer of large Arab towns located just inside Israel near the border with the West Bank (e.g. Tayibe, Umm al-Fahm, Baqa al-Gharbiyye), to the jurisdiction of the Palestinian National Authority in exchange for Israeli settlements located inside the West Bank.[80][81][82][83][84][85][86][87] As the London Times notes: "Lieberman plans to strengthen Israel’s status as a Jewish state by transferring 500,000 of its minority Arab population to the West Bank, by the simple expedient of redrawing the West Bank to include several Arab Israeli towns in northern Israel. Another 500,000 would be stripped of their right to vote if they failed to pledge loyalty to Zionism."[88]"

about fucking time, the sooner, the better for world peace

it was a silly experiment, we tried, we failed, time to move on

the remaining Israeli citizens can always move to the US where they would be welcome with opened arms. Probably not actually.

Or, alternatively, they can return to their 'real homelands' throughout the respective European countries. As 90% of Israeli ancestry is European, less native Semitic.

You'll have to go back at least 50 years (if not longer) before that for understanding why Israel was created.
The British (and French) mandates over the area around 1920 is more of importance than WW2.

but we only made it officially after WW2,

before that it was mostly chaotic settlements and little battles with the locals,

once it was recognized as a country, and that was the UN, founded quickly after 1945, it was the beginning of the end

    What are you talking about?
Mongols were invaders - Asia and Europe was hardly "theirs" since the dawn of time.

England reclaiming France would be be a more accurate example....

actually a better example would be to return America to the native Indians,

how about that, Brit, how is that compatible with your simplistic logic about Israel ?
