    Deformed Babies In Fallujah

Young women in Fallujah in Iraq are terrified of having children because of the increasing number of babies born grotesquely deformed, with no heads, two heads, a single eye in their foreheads, scaly bodies or missing limbs. In addition, young children in Fallujah are now experiencing hideous cancers and leukaemias. These deformities are now well documented, for example in television documentaries on SKY UK on September 1 2009, and on SKY UK June 2008. Our direct contact with doctors in Fallujah report that:

In September 2009, Fallujah General Hospital had 170 new born babies, 24% of whom were dead within the first seven days, a staggering 75% of the dead babies were classified as deformed.

This can be compared with data from the month of August in 2002 where there were 530 new born babies of whom six were dead within the first seven days and only one birth defect was reported.

    Non story;

Ungrateful Iraqis having deformed babies to make freedom look bad, depleted uranium is perfectly safe, just like DDT was until it wasn't.

Yes, what is the cause. I don't think it's depleted uranium- the effects are longer term, and less stark as far as I know. What other nasty compounds have been used to slaughter the people of Fallujah for freedom and democracy?

it's a special baby deforming drug whipped up by the good ol' US pharmacutical mega corp! And a bonus it only works on Iraq babies!

Phama experimenting with fertility drugs? Interbreeding? Child bearing under age 14? Lots of possibilities not caused by nasty compounds to insure freedom and democracy.

Children in Iraq have been dying in record numbers ever since the first Gulf war and UN sanctions prohibited US installed water sanitation repair parts and supplies.

The citizenry has also had DU raining on it for 20 years which could now be having a cumulative effect...

As for the current deformaties, I can just imagine what noxious compounds private contractors had at their disposal,
.. talk about unleashing the dogs of war.

A Hard Look at Iraq Sanctions

    >>>>>>>>>>>>

....The two most reliable scientific studies on sanctions in Iraq are the 1999 report "Morbidity and Mortality Among Iraqi Children," by Columbia University's Richard Garfield, and "Sanctions and Childhood Mortality in Iraq," a May 2000 article by Mohamed Ali and Iqbal Shah in The Lancet. Garfield, an expert on the public-health impact of sanctions, conducted a comparative analysis of the more than two dozen major studies that have analyzed malnutrition and mortality figures in Iraq during the past decade. He estimated the most likely number of excess deaths among children under five years of age from 1990 through March 1998 to be 227,000. Garfield's analysis showed child mortality rates double those of the previous decade.
Ali, a researcher at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and Shah, an analyst for the World Health Organization in Geneva, conducted a demographic survey for UNICEF in cooperation with the government of Iraq. In early 1999 their study surveyed 40,000 households in south-central Iraq and in the northern Kurdish zone. In south-central Iraq, child mortality rates rose from 56 per 1,000 births for the period 1984-89 to 131 per 1,000 for the period 1994-99. In the autonomous Kurdish region in the north, Ali and Shah found that child mortality rates actually fell during the same period, from 80 per 1,000 births to 72 per 1,000.
Garfield has recently recalculated his numbers, based on the additional findings of the Ali and Shah study, to arrive at an estimate of approximately 350,000 through 2000. Most of these deaths are associated with sanctions, according to Garfield, but some are also attributable to destruction caused by the Gulf War air campaign, which dropped 90,000 tons of bombs in forty-three days, a far more intensive attack than the current strikes against Afghanistan.

The bombing devastated Iraq's civilian infrastructure, destroying eighteen of twenty electricity-generating plants and disabling vital water-pumping and sanitation systems. Untreated sewage flowed into rivers used for drinking water, resulting in a rapid spread of infectious disease. Comprehensive trade sanctions compounded the effects of the war, making it difficult to rebuild, and adding new horrors of hunger and malnutrition.

This isn't really news, or at least it wouldn't be if the establishment media were interested in the truth, rather than sucking corporate cock night and day. Since the first Gulf War, the effects of DU use in Iraq have been clear to see. Of course, this doesn't fit with the casualty-less video-game make-believe view of war which the media do such a good job of spoon feeding the public so it's best just to pretend that it never happened. There's a good John Pilger documentary on the deaths of Iraqi children, which I seem to remember includes stuff on DU use around Basra. You can see it at "Paying the Price: Killing the Children of Iraq" by John Pilger

Daffy, are you saying the rise in deformities is unrelated to the depleted Uranium used extensively by the forces of freedom and democracy?

The price of war and sanctions can be terrible and there are always without exemption civilian lives lost, in this case thankfully not as many as if tactics like second world wars carpet bombings of big citys had been used, but maybe it will make future Iraqi leaders think twice about attacking neighbouring nations, lets also not forget that iraq's wars against Iran and Kuwait cost very dearly in life's it's not like Saddam's Iraq was a heaven of peace and tranquillity, the Iraqi people where partly to blame themselves, just like the Germans where partly to blame for the Hitler regime's crimes, without big popular support they would never have been able to do what they have done.

I do feel sorry for the innocent children, but not for their parents who must blame them-self for not standing up to the dictator when it was clear that he was a mad man bent on sacrificing life's in the millions to satisfy he's own private megalomaniac ambitions.

The second Iraq war is now firmly left on the lap of the Bush admin, but people tend to forget that it all could have been avoided if Saddam had allowed the inspectors free access to all the places they wanted, he chose not to even though it "appears" that he had nothing to fear but hurt pride, he chose instead to sacrifice 100.000 of thousands of his people.

It must be clear that the world with increasing vigour will bring dictators and rouge regimes down, and that the people of those countries do bear some responsibility for their own fate, like the Islamic fanatic terrorists, the Arab world have been seen to actually do very little to combat this infestation themselves, apart from saying "oh they are not real Muslims and we do not have any responsibility or agree with their actions" they in reality have been sitting back allowing the terrorists schools to operate freely, and have been secretly/and openly enjoying and directly supporting the havoc the terrorist's are causing all over the world in the name of Allah/Muhamed and holy war.

All those regimes and their populations must by now know the price of us entering uninvited to clean up, and they must be acutely aware of the dirty superpower games being played where they can be used as pawns in the secret wars those powers are fighting, and not get so involved with any party, that they end up with actual war fought on their own soil. China and Russia to some extend, Iran, North Korea especially, don't mind sacrificing a pawn these days after secretly having pushed to initiate a conflict far from home. And we the Western allies are not to innocent either when it comes to protect our interests.

This comment is altogether too common on this forum / this kind of thread and really does sum up the fundamental lack of decency, logic, compassion and even intelligence in the 'nuke 'em all!' anti-Muslim set.

No matter the hypocrisy in the constant cries about the intolerance of Muslims and Islam as a religion, no matter that children are born free and innocent of religion (any religion), nope, no matter any of that there are those that honestly hold these sorts of beliefs and can't see the slightest contradiction.

Ant, have you not realised yet that some of us are sick of Islam and all that goes with it. Every day we read about their intolerance to us and every day we have to tolerate more and more of their bullshit religion in fear that at any moment the racism accusations will start to fly.
Global domination is the ultimate aim of Islam no matter what the moderates may say. So yes "nuke em all"

I'm not so sure that I would go as far as "nuke 'em all" but there is no denying the nature of this incredibly evil way of life may, indeed, result in nuclear conflict. There is ample evidence from many independent sources that Islamic extremists have been trying to obtain nuclear weapons for years with the aim of attacks on western countries. Should this ever transpire, all options are open as to retaliation. We are tired of being held hostage by retrograde thugs who want to kill people because of cartoons, beat and mutilate their wives and carry out medieval punishments in the name of Allah. I don't even consider that sort of behavior acceptable in Saudi Arabia and I certainly don't find it compatible with life in the west. Muslims need to assimilate or leave. That means no hijabs, jilbabs and thrice a day prayers and the realization that freedom of speech is far more sacred in the west than any pedophile prophet.
