Agree with Humby's comment re the stone on the second level.

Don't sgree with the vertical windows as i think they look very nice in the new rendering, was also a little worried about them initially, but look sweet now.

But can try something else if humby wants to give a recommendation for them, see what they look like.

hi nawty, the upstairs walls around the bath, could be a frame with bamboo roller bilnds. this would soften it up a bit. or could do timber panels?

glad you liked the windows, its a bit tricky up there due to space and roof angle getting in the way.

if you have a good pic of the front doors you want then post it here and i can put them in.

are the doors at the side of the house ok?

Just looking at those windows again and i think it gives the front a simple look......then you enter and get a lot more than what you expect with the rear so open and spectacular.

I like it as is, but again, throw something else in if easy enough and just see how it looks, maybe as i mentioned previously another vertical or 2.

    Side doors look fine.

Front door dont have a photo of here, might at home that I have on other puter.

But the chinese type may look out of place on that now.....but i have seen some with nice clean looks, but still very old style, but less rustic and chinese looking.

I see the confusion now......this is not the same dwelling that I am building at Survivor Plantation.....that is a tiny weeney little bungalow where i am experimenting with the tung oil.

This house is for JJ....Oop nerf or somewhere.

This is what I was thinking for the back upper windows. Maybe too much exposure for bedrooms???

Sorry Humby, that looks like a pair of Spidermans eyes have been embedded onto it.

One of the reasons for the verticals and not over the whole area is that behind that wall is bedroom, where the current verticals are, then cupboard and storage and walkin closet space.

Thats why I am wondering if a couple more smaller verticals would enhance it and natural light in those spaces also.

dont forget the bedroom has a big window off of the balcony, so little need for extra light from this side.

    Nawy but Nice!

    It looks really great.

I went through the same horrific process, sketching my plans out on squared paper and then watching as the builder got it all wrong.

I suffered such post-traumatic stress that I had to write a book about it.

    Good luck with it.

    Andrew

Must post myrudimentary house desig and take advantage of this free draughting service.
House looks good but not much ventilation there?
My place will have louvre windows and the typical khmer ventilation blocks.they always have them above windows and doors.

    sorry Cambtek,
this design was from a competition we had, you can find it here on this forum, there are 2 threads regarding the comp.

the next one will be held by Humbert at some stage. maybe you could enter that one, if you win, this is the prize.

as you can imaging, the process is time consuming. and unfortuneatly not alway free.
