Nice to see a few baths. I can't believe the number of 'luxury' apartments they build in Aussie with no bath - just a shower these days. No expense is spared in archtecture design and top of the range kitchen spec and expensive heavy sliding glass balcony access and then they go and leave out something as basic as a bath. You give the real estate agent the teapot and they scratch their head mystified as to why the lack of a bath would eliminate their property from your shopping list. Its just not civilised.
Nice looking place Nawty.

Sorry. Did you manage to get the stains out of the sheets?Originally Posted by DrAndy
ok so have done something with the entrance, am not too happy with it, nawty need some input please,
or theres this one where the corner has been cut off.
Maybe another smaller Thai style rising peak on the gable end and another top floor deck/veranda above a centrally placed entry to give a more imposing appearance on approach. Just looks a bit flat the way it is. That ground floor window looks a bit spare. Better having 2 symmetrical windows either side of a central entry I would say.Originally Posted by splitlid

The first effort looks more at home in rome......hey that ryhmes.
I like the second effort with the angle approach. It looks a bit barron at the moment, but remember out front of the entrance is a large fish pond with limestone floating stepping stones to the entrance and the covered section to the right will make a nice protected garden area, lush and green.
I would try 3 windows upstairs on each side, decreasing in height and play with the widths a little bit.
Also make the kitchen window larger, i like big windows and increase the natural light.....also try 2 windows and see how that looks.
the entrance door should be......think balinese wood, or chinese antique with the metal studs etc.
The ceiling of that balcony to the right should be either wood slats or bamboo, woven bamboo might look nice in there above the ponds, not the bamboo sheet ply, but actual small bamboo poles woven amongst each other.
In these first drawings it will look a bit, straight and square and formal.....hopefully it gets that relaxed, slightly rustic look to it when completed
I like poisoning my neighbours dogs till they die cos I'm a cnut
ok how about this for front, has a verandah along all the wall. ignore the windows for now.
and maybe some louvre panels around the verandah at the top?

Looks good, both look ok to me, probably go with the last one as does not take away any inside space....but there is space to waste I think.
yes it is pretty big inside, but the last one is better i feel,
here it is with panels and columns on a plinth.ignore windows again.

That was a good one the Dr. is getting quite cheeky as of late.
I know you are going to revise the upper story windows. That will help pull it together. The narrow, vertical panes don't work very well.
yep i think your right, although in the render im slightly drawn towards them for some reason.theres still alot of fiddling around that needs to be done. should have something ready by monday, todays a drinking day...go the all blacks.
test
Looks great. Very different than how I visualized Nawty's original concept. I had him with a more rustic approach, you know, more timber.
The stone clad form on the upper deck is to visually block out the bath right? IMO it looks heavy up there.

Can't wait to see it when it's completed!
ok here we go with a render of the rear elevation.
render time 35 mins.
5 mins in PS.
Are you adding the landscaping in Photoshop or are they objects? What program did you say you use?
landscaping is done in the program, added as objects.it usually adds about 60% extra on to the render time.
program is called artlantis.
Beautiful job. That slope looks very steep, you might need a retaining wall if the design is actually built.
cheers mate, i may change that slope to a wall.
