    ain't finished it yet.....

But you could use the under terrace section as a carport in the first half and the back half for the panrty/cellar etc and have the entrance between the water tank, beside the kitchen so to speak. Would be wise to divide the tank into 3 or 4 sections anyway in case of failure, so easy to build an entrance in the middle.

I was looking at this again, and I can't quite get my head round the dimensions, especially with regard to placement of the concrete posts. Can I assume that the living room is 4m wide and the breezeway 3m wide?

Looks like king bed in master BR (1.8mx2m). Could use it as a dimension guide.

My guess LR is 4mx6m. Think you're right, 3m breezeway.

Originally I did the plan in "ft", as here in the US this is the std.

But below is the dimension in "meter" roughly - for the BREEZEWAY....
...w/ the scale bar at the bottom FOR REFERENCE.
All dimensions are adjustable based on the local std materials.

Forget the location of those foundation posts,
...as I was placing them all over just for "the presentation - purpose only".,
...coz I haven't done any calculation on their sizes & locations, esp, with the roof weight on it.

Feel free if you have anymore question

^ Ahh, ok. So your design isn't standard for Thailand with it's standard 4m grid post & beam construction methods. Larger beams would have to be made to span the master bedroom and living room.

Mooncake thanks for taking the time to do those rear pics . But now I am confused that in your original roof plan it seams that the roof coverd the patio area ? [ iam going on your black plan ] but now it appears open with a very long pergola ?

Still like the overall design .

    No problem

The patio is still covered by the main roof, as original plan,...w/ the overall wall height is 9 ft. So the bottom roofline is at 9 ft.
The trellis (pergola) is normally constructed between 7.5-8.0 ft max., therefore still left enough room for the roof clearance.

Just added the trellis there for the visual interest.

    MC

    edit:
oh wait.....not the last 2 ft of the patio tho - so the trellis will be exposed...
But you can always extend the back roof portion to cover the remaining exposed patio area.

Or I can redesign the roof again to cover the entire area, if u want.

^ Thanks for that now I undertand what you had in mind If you get the time a sketch for the rear showing the trellis and the roof would pull it all together , something like the one you did for the front . Dont think its neccesary to redesign your original roof its great as it is .
