BANGKOK, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated to grow 2 percent in the second quarter this year, Finance Minister Korn Chatikavanij said Friday.
The country's GDP for the first quarter contracted sharply 7.1 percent year on year.
However, in light of the country's economic stimulus package, the domestic economy is expected to continuously improve, the minister was quoted by Thai language news agency Krunthep Turakij as saying.
The government's second economic stimulus package, valued at 1.43 trillion baht (41.90 billion U.S. dollars), will be used to finance multi-investment projects from 2009 to 2012.

Honestly, you have to go a long way to find a man more stupid than this guy. How he got the job as finance minister is beyond me. An absolute buffoon.
