Well duh……I thought you’re still “speechless” with MY design….hehe
Been waiting to hear from YOU - the great Pikaso himself!

    Breezeway:…..Thxs…I thought so too

    Actually the idea came from….
1 - observing many farangs who can’t speak much thai, when wife’s relatives show up. This way he can have his privacy in the nice-cool living room, while wife can chat away in the breezeway area.
thus...great area for receiving thai or unwanted guests without having them invading your nice-cool aircon living room.

2- It makes this small house feels big with unique touch w/ this view corridor from the main entry

3- A place to get away from the hot late afternoon sun w/ closable shutters/bi-folds doors,… when you can’t enjoy the back deck

4- Great for extra party space without having everyone running around through the living room!

    ….among other things

My design have always been practical and chic....w/ the real clients in mind.

    Glad you approve it ...

Never speechless my dear! Just allowing a polite interval.
I think your presentation is very good. Personally, I like conceptual presentations that have a 'loose' drawing style. Demonstrates taste. I think we get too wrapped up in 3D and lose a lot of the freshness of a freehand rendering.

Breezeways are great. My elevated house in remote NT had one. Good stuff.

Living quarters to the left, sleeping/washing quarters to the right.

Your frontage is to big for my land, but nice work, wel done. Thanks

    Humbert:
I don’t like computer generated 3D_ unless for the commercial projects…too static feeling for me
You are right, it doesn’t give you freshness and personal touch of the human feeling esp when doing the residential design, ...unlike the freehand rendering.

    JJ:
Well you didn’t really tell me at first…of how big is your frontage
    Hmm…too bad
Anyway: from my experiences…try not to go with any basement, it will “certainly” get damp,…moldly, mushy smell.
And build it with concrete pilings is actually cheaper than with basement, and more useable space for you without climbing up & down. One day you will get sick of it. If you can't go down, just go up & up - better for light & air movement - healthier, me think here.
That is …if your hill side slope is not greater than 30%, otherwise it’s going to be difficult for any big machinery to work on the site down there. Just speaking from my experiences here.
    Best of luck

    Mooncakes, sun buns, whatever.

Your plans would work well if turned.

    Thanks.

I thought it was agreed that the submissions did not have to be site specific???

    That's correct

But I and Nawty just wanted to design with the specific site in mind, and JJ came up with his....because Splitlid couldn't come with his.

No, I don't think they do.

    I'm just being selfish.

Disclaimer: I am not in any way a designer or architect, and this is NOT meant as criticism.

I have a question if I may: why are the laundry and exercise rooms in a location to potentially overlook the pool? Why not put a second master bedroom there with ensuite and move the exercise room and laundry somewhere else? The maid room is bigger than both the guest bedrooms.

Sorry for asking, again it is not a criticism as I am not in this field but I am curious to hear the rationale behind the layout if I may.

Yes. The photos have to be hosted somewhere (like in our gallery) then you link to them.

No problem. Every room opens onto a corridor that opens onto the courtyard. That is the concept. I labeled the room exercise room but it could be another bedroom or an office. The maid room would be partitioned to include a storage area accessible from the car port but at this stage I did not want to lock in to a final layout because I am designing this for myself.

Very good looking model, Split. Are you going to post layout plans of the interiors?

Rain water is going to go right onto the 2F deck. Not my style of house, but very modern.

    gutters should solve that problem.
I like it. It's got an atomic, mid-fifties U.S. ranch vibe. Very hip.

I tried a few drawing programs, but for different reasons they did not work out. so just to get in on this I resorted to paper and pen.
As you can see the outside view is very basic and could use lots of sprucing up.
What is also not shown, is there is a 2nd floor over the bedrooms with a railing in front so you can look down into the livingroom.
I was going for economy. I think this house could be built for well under 2m. It has comfortable sized rooms on only a 100m footprint
