^ ok, self tapping screws ? the screw heads are in inside the ceiling, but there is no drill hole when you look at the ceiling, how did they do that ?
you can only see the other side of the screw, barely seen in the picture below

maybe the holes have been filled after screws inserted
maybe the ceiling was put up after the screws were inserted?
ok I think I have an idea what they did, amazing
they used the screw upside down, and screw the head instead first and then fitted them in the metal frame holes
ok will need to give a try,
right BF
pics please
ok finally done with that job, was a fucking pain
so this is how I did it, it took me a while to figure out what materials I would need, I am a bit slow, so I settled for wood to make the frame support.
basically around the hole, I have put some small piece woods that would become the support to attach the metal T strips. Very easy. Then simply screw the T strip around. Once done, sand the plaster center piece and place it on the T strip. Case solved.
See pics here:

and the full trap complete here:
what a good job that was
now I will need to plaster and hide the holes and repain everything. Someone mentioned plaster tape, not sure what they are or what to expect from it.
In the process, I took a small walk on the ceiling support frame, and by mistake I stepped on the double ceiling in the guest bathroom and almost fell
it was a complete mess, but not too bad, only a small hole.
It turns out to be ok because I had bought before a ready made service trap I wanted to use, so this was the perfect excuse to use it.

Die Thread???? but it has been a hoooot.
still looking for those "mesh" or "plaster" tape, don't know the official name in Thailand and the clones at HomePro have no idea what it is,
found the "mesh" tape at Home Mart, the clones were quite helpful for once
will see how successfully I can put those and use the putty on the top, more pics will come for your amusement
and before I forget,
Daffy, fuck off and go play with your toys in the Mac room
