A few days ago I had a conversation about problems with allergies I've been having over the past year or so with a fellow American at a local beer garden after he asked why I was only drinking pineapple juice. He suggested I take a look at a Candida overgrowth in my digestive tract which is too much yeast in place of benificial bacteria. I've been thinking I'm allergic to MSG, but I've been reading that Candida can cause sensitivity to MSG. I hit the net about this and it is something I want to get tested for since the doctors I've seen in the states just tell me I'm allergic and want me to take a pill for the rest of my life without actually trying to find the cause.
Anyone have suggestions about an allergist or doctor that can give me a test for this while I'm in Bangkok? Anyone have experience with Candida and medication? Thanks for your time.

Candida and MSG sensitivity:
"...Here is another example of how Candida can induce a sensitivity. Many people with Candida overgrowth are sensitive to monosodium glutamate, or MSG. (MSG is a "flavor enhancer" added to many food products.) This sensitivity can be due to an inactivation of a B6 dependent enzyme called glutamic oxaloacetic transaminase. Hence, if someone is deficient in B6, they can become sensitive to MSG. People with the yeast syndrome are often very low in the active form of B6. This is because the toxins from yeast create a real and a functional deficiency of the active form of B6. Thus yeast overgrowth can cause a sensitivity to MSG."
