That's absolute rubbish - there's never been a verified case of this happening, yet the myth persists, due to ancient beliefs about cats being symbols of evil, etc.

It's a good idea to not allow pets to have unsupervised access to infants/small kids.
But the stuff about cats smothering babies is garbage, dude.
