| Had a multi split in office. As you say has advantages. Overall cost was less than single room compressors. Downside is efficiency in rooms long distances from compressor degraded due to length of piping. Also, if the compressor fails, the entire house is without A/C. You might consider two compressors with 3 rooms on each to reduce these downsides.
