Tiling round the toilet

Is there a prefered procedure to this?

I was thinking of laying the tiles down first and cutting around the hole for the waste, then sitting the toilet on the tiles and finally bolting it and sealing it down.

Unlike the UK toilets having its waste exit to the rear, this is on the floor. therefore, is it better to cement the toilet down first and then tile around it?

If you want to make life easier tile first. If you enjoy all of those fiddly little cuts and curves toilet first.

Tile round the toilet waste pipe then fit your toilet.

Best to tile round the toilet base , or for a nicer finish, tile so they finish a few cm under the toilet...then dump your mortar mix around the waste pipe , line up and push the toilet into place making sure you fit any sealing rings, gaskets first!
Handy to put a level across and along the seat so as you dont get a hip displacement later.
The reason to do it this way is the mortar mix will adhere better to the concrete floor than to a polished tile surface .. a good idea here considering the way (most) thais take a dump , squatting with full weight on the seat!

And wonder how much of it will block the toilet waste pipe, the underside of a toilet is mainly recessed, not a good idea, 3 kilos of white cement will hold down that toilet well enough.

yes the dog and others are correct, tile first and then fix the toilet,
the toilet should come with screws and fittings to fix the toilet to the tiles, get your builder to use them, then just grout around the toilet base to finish.

if you fix the toilet first and then tile around it the toilet will be too low, our brains are programed for the correct dumping height, if its too low you will feel uncomfortable everytime you sit down on the throne.
