Thread: ACETONE: What Brand Name in Thailand ?

I am looking for ACETONE, under what brand name are they selling in Thailand. I asked the clerk at HomeMart, HomePro, and HomeWorks and all I got were blank looks

I have a Paint thiner already, Beger M50, and Paint Remover, but those are not Acetone

It can be under any brand name as it is the chemical Acetone and not a name used by a company.

I get mine from

huffing acetone is dangerous ain't it,, and what would it be used for here except freebasing coke? thats what Richard Prior was doing when he set his self on fire.

I can't stand the smell of the shit, girls at our house use it for fingernail polish remover.

maybe you can just buy nail polish remover

Polish remover has some other additives
Just depends what it is being used for if you need the 'pure' stuff

I need ACETONE to clean something, couldn't find any brand name that has ACETONE in their formula, hence my question

maybe too dangerous a product to sell as retail, SISTA seems to be have something close enough, will try HomeMart again

This is Thailand.
I had a case of acetone put on the bus and sent up to me


Sounds like you don't need much of it.
Polish remover would probably be OK for cleaning

Acetone is a recommended cleaning agent for uncured expanding foam. When the foam has set acetone is of no use at all.

BF, Only guessing at what you may need to clean up.

i know what else it can be used for, but i ain,t telling, but i gotta wonder why, thytim you need to buy it by the case?

correct, I need that among other things, to clean up the nozzle, but since I am planning to use the whole can, will probably not need it for that project

ACETONE is also good to remove paint and all those oil based paint, unless I am mistaken

When I was at his house he seemed like a stable guy so if he is freebasing it is for someone else use, but his wife seems OK too.

OK, I did not think that you had a commercial freebasing ops going on.
And I have heard that it does increase fuel efficiency, and if you have used that much then you must be satisfied that it does.
But doesn't it evaporate out of the fuel rapidly?

commonly used for cleaning PVC just not here. But still it is available at plumbing stores Siam brand I think it was that I last purchased some time ago, more available in Bangkok than outlying provinces.. But find a store that specializes more in Plumbing..

Acetone is a solvent used in big volume in the food packaging printing industry, highly explosive in contact to fire or sparks !

if you know one in that business ask him for a drop of it..

As other option you could use Trychlorethylene, i think that one can be found in near any Pharmacy, powerfull cleaner as well...
