I don't think the US even care where Assange is at this stage, because I believe they have yet to find cause backed by US law to ask for Assanges extradition, I believe they need the Manning case to go on before possible evidence would come to light that could nail Assange, and I believe they have some trouble even getting the Manning case going.

I honestly think the US is quite satisfied to see Assanges decline from afar, they have Manning, and the whole world now knows that what Assange did is extremely dangerous, and even if the US can't get to you in person there is many ways like financial etc. they can go to destroy you, just look how they have strangled the money-flow to wikileaks, so more or less job done already.

But of-cause the US will take him if they at some point can get him served on a silver platter, but his crime will never warrant a demand for the death sentence no matter what people claim that to be, it's hyped up rubbish, every one can think to themselves that this is not an option for the US diplomatically, even if they had Assange.
